Hi All, A quick update as I cant really get comfortable with the lap top yet (lap has got a great big plaster on it !) Op took place on Monday PM with Mr Shackleford and I am told went very well. There was a complication in so far as it was a bit of a problem bringing me around from the anaesthetic so I spent a while in the High Dependancy Unit - but it was only to do with the recovery from the anaesthetic not the operation. Tuesday was a bit of a write off due to problems above, but physio had me out the bed. Wednesday, physio had me out the bed twice for a walk about the room and what Wednesday taught me is that I was more restricted by my own confidence than my physical ability. Thursday brought a shower - brilliant, loo - even better, and confidence to get up and about myself unaided several times, walking out in the corridor. Am in Spire Cheshire, so in pleasant surroundings and all good. Looks like i'll be going home Sat or Sun - to suit weather and traffic rather than my progress. All pipes etc were removed on Wednesday (glad to see the back of the catheter) and am now on tablet medication rather than IV but still using the Fentanyl from 12months + ago. Pain levels are low but is niggling a bit tonight as have been quite active today. So thats about it for now, i'll update my history when I get home and can get more comfortable with lap top Thank you to all for best wishes Andy |

Thanks for good wishes, its Friday and again more physio, today has been up and down the stairs, I had a chuckle to myself at what everyone in reception must have thought as I was wobbling up and down the stairs with a beaming grin on my face. !Quite pleased with myself. Hopefully out on Sunday AM Best Wishes Andy |
