Wow, thanks for all the advice and support. Honestly, I am surprised but comforted that Mr S told you at 6 weeks that you can bend and touch your toes - well done. I haven't tried that yet as I was told by the hospital that I couldn't do that for the first 12 wks (other than kneeling to bend and to do an exercise whilst lying down to lean back). It just shows you that each consultant has slightly different views. I see the physio on Monday afternoon so will be interested to see if he has contacted the hospital. I hope he has as I don't like making a fuss but I believe that I have got this far and I don't want to jeopardise my back. Do keep in touch with how you get along at your next app. I thought it was only me who does something silly to cause a flare up. Thanks Nailah
