Oh Dillie, I am so pleased for you, you must be over the moon!!! That makes two geniuses (if that's how you spell it!) with Mr Shackleford, who I thank everyday in my mind for getting me back on my feet!! Hope things continue to go well for you and I am so glad to hear that you don't have any nerve pain - I still have it 6 months on and wonder when it will go. Love Gilly xx |

Indeed hats off to Khai Lam! What a wizard of a surgeon! Really glad, Dillie to hear that you're doing so well! You certainly deserve it... I have my CT scan on a disc and it's just breathtaking when you take a look because you can just see the difference (I know when I had fusion it as different resons to yours but still) amazing isn't it!? And the pics compared to an MRI are pretty cool, I've had probably most comments on my CT pic on facebook! I can't get my head around it, gosh go Mr Lam and his dim-sum liking ways !Take care and see you around hoping that you're progressing steadily! Lysse xxxx |

Thanks a lot ajj, Gilly and Alyssa I'm really appreciative of what Khai Lam's done for me, especially as I was led such a dance by others who should have told me the truth. I spoke to someone yesterday who had a very major spinal revision done about 18 months ago and she's just got sensation back in her foot, just goes to show that sometimes nerves take a long time to settle. I've still got some strange post-op sensations around the tops of my thighs but it's very slowly disappearing.........wish the excess weight would do the same! And no, I haven't been eating doughnuts!

Just an update on my lumbar spine progress....when I saw Mr Lam on Sept 10th I told him I was still having problems with my right hip when I tried to walk any distance - I'd been coping with this for about a year before my op. He told me I had trochanteric bursitis and immediately gave me a cortisone injection. With the rest I've had since on holiday it's eased the pain up a lot so hopefully it'll go. If not Mr Lam said there's a minor op that can be done to solve it. We'll see! |
