Hope this is the start of some decent pain relief for you Mrs R, and good to hear that the procedure wasn't too uncomfortable for you. Get plenty of rest and don't be overdoing things until you are fully over it. That's a bit rich coming from me as I always do!!! but hope you will get maximum benefit from the ablations. Love Gilly xx |

Hi all Just a quick update from me. I've had some benefit from the facet joint denervations as I explained in my other thread. I still have a lot of pain but feel like I am back in the land of the living. We even managed a little break in Sussex this week, an hour and half away by car which I managed with regular stops. It was great just to get away. I have got a cancellation place on the pain management programme at INPUT, St Thomas's Hospital, and I start on Tuesday. Not looking forward to having to live at the hospital on week days for 4 weeks, but at least they let you home at the weekends. Am doing this to see if it really helps with the pain and if so then maybe I won't have to have the facet joint fusion, we'll see. Will let you know! |

I hope it goes well and that you can build on the success that the denervation has given you. Looking forward to hearing all about it. |

I wonder if Mrs R has tried Amitriptyline. I have been taking this for nerve pains for a few weeks and there has definately been a reduction in my pain. It might be worth a try. Best wishes Brenda |

Will look forward to a full run down of which elements they include and what you found most useful when you are done. I'm sure it will be worth the effort even though its tiring at the moment, days I am up and about more than usual are a trial but worth it as long as I have time to rest up and recover. |
