It had taken him just shy of 3 days to make his way across the country from San Francisco to New York. It made things a lot easier when your mode of transportation could double as your home. Stopping on the side of the road and at truck stops to sleep Ray was finally in the mean streets of New York and navigating traffic like a pro. As difficult as it is to find parking in that city is for one with a truck like his it's relatively simple. You pay a business a hundred bucks and you park in their back alley for the week almost.

Not wanting to draw attention to himself he made sure to put about 6 blocks of distance between his truck and the church in question as he began his investigation. He waited till dark before he moved anywhere near the building. Standing there in a large Grey bunny-hug he tilted his head as he looked up at the burned in letters. MLF. He knew what the letters meant but at the same time, he prayed that this was in no way connected to his friend. Glancing back and forth across the street he waited till the coast was clear before he shifted his shoulders and a moment later two of his worms were loosed upon the building.

The other two slithered out and into the shadows a moment later each one going over the area as best as they could soaking up all the information they could, Scents, sounds, even feeling the cut of the rock and steal. Aramis brought Ray a sample of the cut edge of the rock and he ran his thumb over it trying to determine what did the damage. He needed to know if she was involved. If she was here.

Looking around he began to inspect the other buildings his eye's sliding up and down as he looked for security cameras and other such devices. It was times like this he wished that he was more technologically inclined. But at least he had some decent google-fu. Folks with cell phones and such would have probably leaked images of that day to the net and regardless of government involvement, it's impossible to suppress all of it.

Wurm wasn't the only resident of Graymalkin, current or former, to have seen news about an attack from this new organization, the MLF. As far as 'Ro knew, the old MLF had been wiped out, supposedly by the mysterious, possibly nonexistent Superior X. Whatever the case, the Wakandan intelligence service had informed both T'Challa and her that many, if not all, of the previous MLF had been killed in a brutal and bloody assault.

So then, who had brought them back?

The Mutant Liberation Front had never been nearly as effective as the Brotherhood of Mutants, serving more as a personal army to their former leader than an effective force for...whatever they had claimed. There rarely had seemed a link between their targets, their attacks had been random and flashy but seldom targeted anything vital like energy or airlines.

Dressed in her street clothes, 'Ro had come to take a look for herself. She was certain that Facedancer would eventually show up, at SHIELD's behest, but as a mutant and former leader of the X-men, she had her own concerns. As usual, she flew, always astonished at just how rarely people ever looked up. It made traveling quietly and quickly easy, along with ambushes, but then again, few people were forced to think in three dimensions as consistently as fliers were.

It seemed that she was not the only one interested in the site, as she observed someone else there. She wondered if it might not be the culprit, come to observe his handiwork and the Purifiers' response to it. Even though it might prove hazardous for her, being a mutant at the site of a desecration of a church of anti-mutant bigots, Storm glided down from the roof, using the winds to slow her fall and move closer. Her hand crackling with electricity, she spoke. "Would you care to tell me just what you are doing here?"
I am a woman, a mutant, a thief, an X-Men, a lover, a wife, a queen. I am all these things. I am Storm, and for me, there are no such things as limits.

The kick up of wind was first noticed by Athos and Porthos on the building and while hidden in the darkness and among the stones of the building they both turned to look at Storm as she made her way to the ground where Aramis was sitting at Ray's feet and D'Artagan was hidden behind a wooden barrier just behind Storm where she landed. The fact she didn't recognize him was not all that surprising. Sure his size set him apart standing at 6'8 but the fact his face was hidden by his hood and he was looking down at the stone in his hand took away a lot of identifying markers.

Tilting his head towards her the shadows kept his face hidden as his eye's looked storm up and down. If there was any tension in his body Storm would have seen it visibly relax despite the electrical discharge she was giving off. ”Well I'm willing to bet the same-thing your here for, Mrs. T'Challa.” Reaching up with his free hand he pulled the hood back so she could see his face. He wasn't sure if she would recognize him. But then he did stand out given he was naturally bald and that size to boot. ”Or is it Ms. Monroe again?” He gave her a small smile and tossed the rock back to the church grounds with a sigh. ”Pack it in guys. I think we found about all we can here.”

Slithering out from behind the barricade and between Storms feet, D'Artagan returned and with Aramis slithered up Ray's legs and under his jacket.

"Ms. Munro once again. But you may call me Ororo, Raymond." If his voice and knowledge of who she was didn't give him away, his mutation did. She knew only one student who had his peculiar gifts, and she was not concerned about being in his presence. Lowering her arm and restoring the weather to its natural pattern, she kept her expression neutral, before giving him a friendly hug.

"You're wondering who has reformed the Mutant Liberation Front? You must forgive me, I am somewhat out of the loop these days. But whether I'm with the X-men or not, this attack requires an investigation. And if necessary, a response." Her time spent as T'Challa's wife had indeed had an effect. There were acts that he would not or could allow to go unchallenged, and increasingly, Storm held the same view.

"The MLF is a danger to what the X-men are committed to, peace between humanity and mutants. Attacking this church, so openly and blatantly? If they intend to set a spark to this powderkeg, they must be stopped."

It was quite obvious Storm recognized him as she backed down. His time as a student not lost on her nor the common knowledge that he was of no threat to anyone. So he smirked a bit as she gave him a neutral look before moving to embrace him like one would an old friend. Smiling he wrapped his arms around her and gave her a good squeeze patting her back twice as he always did before looking down at her. ”It's good to see you again Ms. … Ororo. .. Man that's so weird to say now.” Smirking he shook his head with a little chuckle. ”Your looking good. I heard things went a little sideways in your life recently but I'm glad to see you've been able to rise above them.”

At the mention of the MLF Ray looked over at the wall and noted the fact that Porthos and Athos were still out and keeping an eye on the area. Ray then gave his head a bit of a nod and then a slight shake to indicate that she was only half right. ”Actually I'm looking for Jubilee. She and the others had a huge blow-up and she ran off. When I heard about the attack and what had been done to the building.” He pointed to the marks. ”It screamed her powers. Plus with her little need to go after these ….. Individuals. It seemed like a good place to check out. But I got here too late. The guys can't pick up her scent anywhere. Even if she was here, It's been too long for them to tell and there are too many other scents to cover things.” The large man seemed to deflate regarding the situation. He knew what she was saying was right but he wasn't sure how to react to it. He wasn't a violent man nor did he go out of his way to do violence. ”The best I can hope for is someone posting some pictures or some phone video online. See if anyone witnessed it.”

Looking back to Storm there was an obvious worry in his eye's for Jubilee's safety and well being. He was out here not for himself, not for the MLF, not for the church. He was out here searching for his friend. For someone, he needed to save if not from the world but themselves. Even if it cost him personally to do so. ”I don't have a way of finding her and this was the first clue I could manage.”

"Weird, Raymond? If you are more comfortable with Storm, you may use it. Or 'Ro, as the others do. It rolls more easily off the tongue." She took a moment to look at him closely. "Thank you. Although with my powers, I do tend to rise above my circumstances, eventually. You are also looking well. I see some time away from Graymalkin seems to suit you." She knew he had left the school at some point, although she was less sure of the circumstances. Not every mutant wanted to join the X-men. Some just wanted a normal life.

Storm gave a guarded nod when he mentioned he was looking for Jubilee. As a longtime X-woman, she had been made aware of the younger woman's departure, although she had been hoping that she wasn't involved in this. "She has always been a bundle of emotion, but I had hoped that experience would bring her wisdom, to temper that. Her need for vengeance is certainly a cause for our concern. I admit I was surprised when I saw it was you here, but then, she was your primary instructor, was she not?"

As he explained that his creatures were unable to pick up her scent, and that he was out of options, sans video, she gave a loud exhale, as though making up her mind on a snap decision. "Neither of us is currently on the X-men. That means we have more...freedom of action than they might." She looked around. "But I suggest we leave this place for somewhere more private before we discuss any further actions. You don't get airsick, do you?"

Ray couldn't help but let out a chuckle. ”Well when you spend how many years calling you Ms. Monroe Or Mrs. T'Challa it becomes a habit and changing a habit is often difficult.” At the mention of Jubilee's temperament Ray nodded sadly. He looked at it as partly his fault for not being here. ”Yeah she was my primary instructor. And when I was around she would reign herself in a lot from what I could gather. I feel somewhat responsible for not being there to act as a buffer zone.” Rubbing the back of his head in his usual show of frustration he looked at the church guiltily. ”If it was her who did this. … I'm the one who's responsible for the damage. I wasn't there to help. Instead, I ran off and left her without a grounding influence I guess.” He had long noticed that his pacifistic nature seemed to reign in Jubilee's exuberance. It was like he was able to draw off her rage and focus it into more constructive aspects.

At the mention of her not being an X-person anymore and how that gave them more options he thought for a moment and nodded. ”Yeah I spoke with this guy named Facedancer back at the school. Kinda a douche if you ask me … but don't tell him I said that. He's going to hit up his Shield contacts to see if he can find me a clue to go find her.” At the mention of going somewhere more private he was about to mention he had his mobile home parked a few blocks away when she asked if he got airsick. ”Well … no can't say as I do … why? By this time the last two worms came back from guard duty and had crawled back inside him. Leaving him to look at her with confusion.
