Having played for a long time, there are a shit load of epic experiences I could share, but how to decide which one? Randomly it is. It was a crisp fall evening. North of Fountain City, 5779 Randolph County Line Road, the woods across the street. I don't recall the exact team division, but as I recall I was alone, just me and the mp5k. The opposing team had I would say 2-3 guys moving up on my position, all sporting co2 handguns. I was pinned behind a tree, bbs hitting the foliage all around me. "Shit, shit shit" running through my mind. "Fuck it." Glancing down at the K, I switch it to full auto and sprint forward. Moving from behind the tree I run forward, full sprint- right at the enemy. I raise the gun up, one handed and started blasting. Dodging shots, I take out one guy, and dive into a pile of brush and cover. The rest of the enemy team hauls balls. The remainder of the game was rather routine, search and destroy. But it was fucking epic. One more: A fall day. September-ish, 2006. Williamsburg, Indiana. We were playing around this creek, most of us only using pistols. Mantooth had the only AEG. We were pinned in a small ravine, 2-3 of us. All I had was a semi auto co2 uzi, it was fairly new and I wasn't completey used to it. I kept popping shots at Tooth, but couldn't hit him for shit. It didn't help that I was out of ammo, and had to manually reload with *rat-a-tat-tat-tat* going off a few yards uphill of us. I managed to get a hold of some .2 gram bbs (having usually used .12 at the time), loading them as quick as possible I move up, keeping low on Tooth. Getting some cover I sit and wait, a couple minutes later he swings around his cover and starts shooting at my teammates. I seized the opportunity and squeezed the trigger. The bbs sailed straight as an arrow. The most accurate thing I had ever seen (back then), amazing tagged him in the small bit of exposed leg/side. |

Time for another of Uncle Andy's tales. Picture it- a young Glowstick, cheap camo pants, black t-shirt, dad's extra tactical vest, paintball mask, and an older version of the sigma I carry now. Sweetness v1.0 if you will. I am one of 2 people toting co2 pistols, in a barn with 1-2 other guys. The other team consisted of- 1 sigma, 1 m4 aeg, possibly 1-2 other lesser guns. The field- a barn, with a small loft that watches over one of the doors. My team is down. It is me and me alone against at least 2 other guys, very low on ammo, facing an equal pistol, and a freaking m4. (Before the thought of "semi-auto" mattered to people.) Hiding in the loft watching the door I waited. They didn't hesitate as they breached the door, aeg first, I was fairly covered, so the incoming shots from the m4 bounced all around, leaving me unscathed, but stuck. I wait, a pause in M4 fire, and I take my shot. He takes cover. His teammate then rushed into the barn- both taking shots at me. I had a second to think, even less time to react. An overpowering machine gun to my 12 o'clock, an oppressive handgun flanking (my cover-less) 2-3 o'clock. I see my exit- a small out cropping on the loft, behind 2 large beams. I dove, praying it didn't collapse, dodging bbs, and made it. The fire stopped. They weren't sure where I had gone... silence, deafening silence. I spring up, gun at the ready, squeeze off what shots I can. I held them off for a couple of minutes, only to be gunned down by a hand gun blast to the finger. But I fought valiently, alone, against a greater foe. (I was pissed that I lost.) |
