I think the time has come for the unification of our squads into one full, cohesive team. Restart the squads with more balance in mind. Everyone seems to like each other (well most of the time), I can't even remember the last game we played without members from another squad present. There are a lot of players out there without any squad affiliation, who might feel left out. Also, we've been kicking around the idea of starting a local league. I personally feel, if done properly, it could really make our local games much more interesting and competitive. How does everyone else feel about it? Edited by duder, Feb 24 2010, 07:20 AM.

Right, but the idea is to be a really big group, then even it out with smaller units. This way everybody can be part of a team, and we will have a much easier time keeping things organized. No one will be left out this time. |

Okay, I'm going to lay out my idea on this, I explained it to Fourman, and I sort of feel it reflected in his posts here. There is no point in dictating ourselves as "teams". We all play together, we all fly the same flag and play the same rules. Simple organization and communication? Sure, that makes sense, but it doesn't mean you need to be your own little team with your special gear and this and that when we're all playing together (intermixed usually) and if and when we attend large events we'll be all together. My idea is this. Eliminate "nameless", "BSE", "TFD", and any other "team" designation and just be different squads under one flag. The Wayne County Airsoft flag. Alpha Squad, Bravo Squad, and Delta Squad. (Etc...) Split everyone up by who they talk to/communicate with the most, or want to be with. Use that for basic organization or whatever else comes up. Each Squad has a Captain or two that keeps up with getting a hold of people, whatever, those Captains cooperatively form the leadership council of the group, making rule decisions, etc. When we go to larger events, we can use squad designation as a way of attacking objectives, etc, and know who's going where. Its not a huge change really, its just eliminating the divisional mindset teams may cause, and just sticking with simple alphabetic names. (Delta obviously still gets that.) But referring to each other as squads, realizing we're all one, and acknowledging it is a good way to build that big team morale. We don't have enough members to have any opposing forces, yet. We work together as one. We call ourselves by one name. WCA. I'll be out of town this weekend. I'll try to get on here to check any replies. But if I don't respond, that is why. |

Kinda thought you'd want "Charlie" mwuahaha. I would take Echo but I don't want to be associated in any way with Echo1. I absolutely love this idea, pretty much ties into the league idea too. After this is all settled, for events, all we'd have to work on is radio communications. |

I think we should drop all the squad names in general and be under one fuckin name. And then Leave the Squad names for the league. The league could have like 6 Squads, for example: Alpha Bravo Charlie Delta Echo Foxtrot. Each squad has 5 members. Every season, everyone that wants to be a part of the league will devide into these 6 squads to compete. We'll have bracket and Squads will be eliminated. Then at the end of the season 1 squad will win and get braggin rights. Just a fun inner competition within our team. It wouldnt be mandatory to be a part of the league. Just for fun. We'll have more about the League at the next meeting, we're still working on different things. But overall, i think we should just drop the names and go with one name for all of us. |

I was hoping to get more opinions, but it seems like we're the only four to use this board right now. |

Honestly, its pointless to bother changing anything. Everyone is set in their ways, and if its not us discussing it, its not really getting discussed. Let's just do what we do, it's worked well enough for long enough. |

Change is good because its good to grow and try new things or things will get old and become lame. Last year was fun, but there are things we need to add and fix. Such as a real set of rules and regulations. Its not a huge thing, we just need to step up our professionalism if we want this thing to grow. We'll need Rules and Regulations if we want to grow any larger. As far as the League goes, adding the league games will also add something different. We're be ADDING the League, not replacing the normal games with it. We'll still have the same normal games every Sunday. The League will be on a different day, and be its own thing. And not everyone has to be a part of the League. If you dont want to, than dont, lol. But a lot of us are going to. The League isnt really up for discussion, we're already well into planning mode with it. But like i said, the league is it's own seperate thing, it wont effect the Normal Sunday games. The thing really being discussed is if we're gonna all Join one team, or stay as seperate teams. Which i think has been discussed before and no one is up for change, so it'll probably never happen. |

Chill Pill Let me clarify. We're having a League this year. THAT part isnt up for discussion. How the league will work IS up for discussion. A few of us are going over ideas, and we'll present them to you at an upcoming meeting. Everyone will have their chance to have input on the Subject. :wtf: And the "Teams". I think what we've been doing works really well. And i think even just trying to change it is causeing problems, so lets not fix it, cuz it works fine. We're multiple teams in a large community. Anyone can join a team, start their own team, or not be on a team at all. Whatever they want to do. But BSE is staying BSE. :bang: |

So, tentative agenda: 1. Internal League Play to happen throughout this season. 2. Define and enact set rules to happen before campsoft. 3. Play Airsoft. |
