Despite the crappy audio, this game was really fun. I thought the on-foot mode was going to be difficult to handle but it was really easy once I got used to it. That and the weapons are cool. The one thing that bothered me though was that Fox could pull a Homing Launcher out of his backpack, which is exponentially smaller than the Homing Launcher...It's kinda like in Goldeneye for the N64. Have you ever played multiplayer and watched as your friend pulled a grenade launcher out of nowhere? Yeah. It's a strange sight...

ANYWAY! Back to the review. Now I know what you're probably asking, "Why did you say the audio sucked?" Well that's simple. It's the same voices from Star Fox Adventures, but you hear them a lot more often now. Slippy is as annoying as ever, Krystal is British for no reason at all, and Falco sounds like the Fonz from Happy Days. The only normal voices are Fox's, General Peppers, and Peppys. This didn't ruin the game, but it was really annoying when they wouldn't stop making conversation in the freakin Comm Link! That and they're all very very repetitive. I swear I've heard Falco say "Get in that Landmaster and show 'em who's boss!", or something like that, about 500 times XP

Ok now for the controls. The Landmaster controls are a lot different because you actually control where it goes rather than the game making it move for you. The Landmaster is the most powerful vehicle but like the slowest. The Arwing is basically the same control you used in Star Fox 64 or, better yet, from Star Fox Adventures. Now on-foot is fine no matter what people say. I have had no problems with the camera at all while playing this game. The only thing that bothers me is moving backwards, but that's also a problem in RE4. You just can't move backwards that quickly, even though in RE4 you're able to do a 180 quick turn. But overall the controls were just fine to me.

Now the story in this game is fresh and new. No Andross to deal with so don't be complaining about a lack of fresh storyline. An evil race of aliens called the Aparoids is your main enemy now, and even team Star Wolf helps you throughout the game. The Aparoids are evil little critters that destroy worlds by jumping to one, spreading themselves across it with "Hatchers", then taking it over from there. They are also able to possess people. So naturally you're the one who has to stop this menace from destroying the universe while enduring the crappy dialogue and cutscenes.

Now vs. mode has improved by far. There are tons of things to unlock and playing 4 player vs. on foot is just a blast, but kind of one-sided at times. Once you get into a Landmaster you basically dominate the playing field becuase its lasers are uber-powerful and you can even run people over. Arwings don't stand a chance against it. About two charged laser shots from a Landmaster and they're gone. But if you turn off Landmasters, it gets a lot more interesting as it is very hard to shoot down an Arwing with a machine gun XD

So all in all this was a pretty solid game. I give it an 8.5/10 because the story was new, the gameplay was awesome, and vs. mode was a blast.
