i would like to start this review off by saying this game is way overrated. for 50$ and 4 times the percentage in hype i was expecting alot more. did gaming standards go down so much that even games like this gets a 9-10?

this game is short. my friends bought this game, and brought it over. we played this game from 2-8 30 ish and beat it! and in the spartan (hard) mode our first time! thats rougly more than 6 hours and less than 7. 50 bucks for this? come on!

the difficulty:

this game is so incredibly easy. i started right off the bat in spartan mode and i didnt get hit at all the first level. i parried every hit perfectly and the hydras didnt even come near touching me. kratos is also waaay too strong. he literally takes about 20 hits to be near death and then you kill an enemy and a health orb accidentally flies out of him and OOPS your back to full health again.

its not like you need to worry about your health, every section of the map has a ridiculous amount of recovery points. if you turn a corner, you can bet that the first turn yields a full health or mana recovery chest.

the combat is very shallow

all the moves are executed by the use of L1 and any of the 4 buttons (x triangle square and O) timing is nonexistant in this game.

this game boils down to being a short, easy, button mashing experience with visuals that serve no other purpose than to be eye candy.

this game took 3 years to make and took about double that time in hours to beat.

what a sad excuse for a 50$ game

this is a good game but not worth the 50. they should have made this a 30$ game.

over all score. 7.5/10

Eugene...come on man. You have to realize that you are way better than most when it comes to action games and your level of skill does not equate to the average rating system for players. Devil May wasn't all that long, Onimusha was quite short and most games these days are short. Lets face. More time is spent on production value. To say this game isn't worth the $50.00 is harsh. The average player will love this game. Maybe they won't score it a 10, but I don't think they will feel let down when they put up their money. While its true I haven't finished the game and maybe my opinion will change when I get another chance to put some time into it. The first two levels were fun. When I gave it a 10 out of 10 it was for the sleeping quarters mini game. Thats all I was referring to.

my review is my opinion alone. this is just my thoughts on the game which i liked to share with other people. it took andy about 10 hours to beat it. and it takes most people about 10-15 hours to beat it. god of war is a good game, but im just stating that to me, it was easy. devil may cry is also a short game, but the harder modes provide extreme challenges which was not the case in god of war. even god mode was not that difficult. dmc 3 had tremendous replay value because of the difficulty of the bosses in dante must die mode.
