Rather than writing about what I dont like about Christmas (sorry, but thats my take, guys), I thought I'd start a thread about how we are all coming along in preparations. Started turning on the lights outside, on Dec 1 (doesnt seem right to start in November). Saturday I baked Shortbread, Sunday my wife (who has this week off) baked Raspberry Tarts and Butter Tarts, plus Stohlen (a German fruit-bread - MrsS would know.) Yesterday we (mostly she) put up all the dressings and lights in the Bay-windows, red bows and gold strings of beads along the valances, Sno-Globes and candles all over the place, and the Evergreen-style garland all along the top of the partition that separates the kitchen from the living and dining rooms (its an "open" floor plan in the front of the house). And now, we just finished the TREE! :thumb :dance :thumb How's everyone else doing? editted for spelling |

Good for you. We still lack putting some lights and garland on the posts on the porch. Nearly every thing else is done. |

Wife does most of the decorating. :xseason We are simple in the decoration part so, like OP, it does not take long. Xmastree They went up the day after Thanksgiving ang will come down New Years day. Wife sings in the choir, at church, and they are almost ready. I'll miss that. Xmastie :snoglo |

Minimal decorating here, we're headed to Kino Bay Mexico on the 22nd of December. Hosting a Christmas (NOT XMAS) Party for our RV club here on Saturday. My wife doesn't know it yet but she's about to get some MAJOR 4 figure type jewelry for Christmas and our 25th anniversary (8 days later). Easy to keep that woman happy--gold and diamonds work every time!

I put some nice lighting up on the weekend. Carol has created a pretty little village in the bay window. On Sunday I erected a nice lighted tree that I discovered still in it's original box and unopened in the dumpster behind a local hardware outlet---Thanks Canadian Tire for turfing another item that I can use. Yes I do a bit of dumpster diving. Can't resist it. Xmastree |
