I just read on Yahoo, that the military has now come out with the report which details Pat Tillman last moments alive. There was a complete breakdown in communications and he was shot by rifle fire and machine gun fire--while he was trying to signal our own troops to quit firing on him and the other American troops with him. I hope they follow up with this report with another outlining what measures will be taken in the future to eleiminate this type of event. Evidently, the troops doing the killing, had changed there course without radioing the change to Tillmans Group. Pat Tillman was a former NFL football player who walked away from a multi million dollar contract to join his brother fighting for our country. He received the Silver Star for his brave actions during this fatal mistake. May his soul rest in peace Fr. Mike |

God Bless Pat Tillman and his family. Unfortunately, death by friendly fire occurs all too often in combat. |

I don't know why this is news now... I had heard of the friendly fire thing shortly after his death. Either way, he died in service to his country, and for that and for others' sacrifices I am eternally grateful. |

Those incidents have happened in every war, it's just with the media coverage these days, they come to light. Its not exactly a football game with rules & penalties. |
