Old Man of the Sea, Ruler of the Realm
Thank you for the welcome back.

The trip in a moment, but nothing like getting back home to my Bride who I missed dearly. Also waiting for me on the ole computer were 185 e-mails, 367 posts on a fishing site I go to daily and I don't know how many threads I have to go on the Breach, but looks like I won't get to all of them tonight.....

As a number of you know, I love to bass fish and Lake Powell out of Page, AZ is my favorite lake to do that and also enjoy the beauty of it. Well this trip was for other than fishing, but hoping that I would get a few hours to do so anyway. Well that didn't work out, but no big deal.

A very good fishing friend of mine had fell in love with a boat that he saw in Page on our last trip there the end of September. After much thought on the matter, he decide to purchase it. It is a 23' Polar with a 225 Yamaha 4 stroke engine. He wanted a lot of electronics installed, plus bass chairs, etc..

We left on Sunday the 28th and drove to Las Vegas where we spent the night at Silverton R.V. park. Bass Pro Shops had just had their grand opening on Nov. 16th for their new 175,000 sq. ft. two story building. What better place to spend an afternoon getting the right fish finders, gps, chairs, etc.. So that is what we did for a few afternoon hours before dinner. Thank goodness I wasn't paying for it, because it came to over $2,000.

The next day we went on into Page and to the boat shop to drop off his purchases and give them some instruction as to where he would like things installed. Sunny So. CA was 65 degrees the day we left and Page was in the high 30's on our arrival. The nights were in the low 20's and long johns were in order most everyday. Lucky for us, we skirted the snow, but not the cold weather.

Each day most of the time was spent in the heated boat service shop, with a couple of side 8 mile trips down to the lake to take some photos. When I get them in the computer, I will send Leo a few to post if he would like on Lake Powell.

Our hope was that the boat would be rigged and ready for a test run by Thursday noon, but even with two techs working on it for 8 hours straight each day, it wasn't ready until early Friday AM and then it was time to head back for Las Vegas and home on Saturday. For those of you that are familar with the drive on I-15 from Las Vegas to L.A. or Orange County where we both live, it is not a thing you want to do on Sunday when everyone else is coming home. Especailly with a 30' motorhome pulling a 23' boat.

So with another stop at the Silverton R.V. park and one more visit to the Bass Pro Shop candy store, it was on to home at 7 AM today. Round trip was 1,100 miles and plenty of gas.

Sorry for being so long winded, but remember you asked!!!!

Thanks again for the welcome home and it's nice to be back on the Breach again.....
