What a great race and the season win goes to a great driver. I'll be watching #48 and #9 next season. Congrats to the Bush team.

Its a shame for the 48 team about the new rules. If they had run this year like before Bush wouldn't even be in the top 5. I feel like Jimmie Johnson really deserves the championship but times do change and weather you like it or not Bush is the champion. I'm going to be watching Jeff Burton next year. I think he will be a big factor for the championship. Its good to see Richard Childress have a decent driver again, one that is deserving the ride.

Jamie McMurray should ahve been in there. Had it not been for the new points, he would have been in the top ten maybe top five at the end. instead he is at 11. Jeremy Mayfeild would have dropped out, as well as Sadler.

I think it is a shame that Busch won. Although he was more consistent in the last 10 races, he is a whine bag. I would have rather seen Johnson win it for Hendricks. Of course I say that cause going into this last race it was clear my Jr wasn't going to make it!

But darn it, what am I going to do with my sunday afternoons now?

Jr was lucky to even stay in the top five. I've heard Busch treats his crew terrible and talks down to them. When you depend on a bunch of guys to keep you safe, I'd keep my mouth shut and appreciate them.

I heard that as well. They said he has a sarcasm that you have to get used to. Well, I say that if you are that dependent on others you best learn to drop the sarcasm.

As for JR, he would have been up there fighting for the lead had he not been greedy and fought for the win, and spun out three races ago. That bumped him out of it. Not to mention the 25 points. But that is his own fault. Both times. JJ fought back hard, and to go from being out of the whole deal (according to the "experts) up to second and third was amazing. I don't care much for Gordon, (only cause he is hubby's drive, gotta have some friendly competition) so I didn't want to cheer for JJ since Gordon is part owner, but you gotta give the guy some respect after what all he did!

JJ clearly was the best over the last 5 races, but the first 5 hurt his chances. Kurt Busch deserved to win. He flat out ran everybody in the last 10 races, exactly what the French's didn't want. Busch was consistant, and didn't win many races, NASCAR wanted wins to decide the championship. It didn't turn out that way.

The new point system is a joke. All year everyone talked about a Jr/Gordon final, and it never materialized. It will be interesting to see what changes NASCAR makes this winter to change it again.

NASCAR is all money now, changing tradition over the mighty dollar, and it's a shame. They can't seem to make up their minds about penalties, and make up rules as they go. I'm really starting to hate it. (But I know what I'll be doing on my Sunday's come January...;))

Yeah I hear ya. The penalities are ridiculus. while the points hurt, a $10,000 fine is nothing for them, and manytimes their sponser pays it. Like when JJ hide the powerade bottle behind a sign. Pepsi paid that fine.

But points are nto taken away in any other sport. they shouldn't in here. Slap them with a HUGE fine. That will make them think twice, and keep the field fair. And the language thing still bugs me. Some of the conversations that go on while they are drivign are far worse then what JR said. And they all know we are listening to those.

I will be spending my sunday afternoons come Jan right back in front of the tv, without a doubt, but till then I will be moaning and groaning about all the changes. Tradition be darned, money is important. They have made that clear.

Fines don't hurt these people Stacy, they have to start taking points away. And, they have to be consistant with it. Tony Stewart, when his car was impounded for the illegal X/Y measurement, got his car back, and a monetary fine. BIG DEAL!! Jamie McMurray did the same thing, failed his X/Y measurement, and got a fine AND lost points!! For the same infraction. I wonder if Home Depot, being the "official home wearhouse of NASCAR" had anything to do with the penalty....hmmmm....

When Jr. had an illegal windshield, it cost him $5000.00. i think he won $130000.00 that weekend in prize money, nevermind sponsor bonuses etc. What's $5000.00 to these guys?? True, they don't take points away in other sports, but cheating isn't so much on the forefront. You cheat, and get caught, you lose points. I think it's simple.

The swearing on TV is wrong, and a 5 sec. delay in broadcasting helps that. As far as in car stuff, that is basically a PPV, or listen on your own terms thing. Emotions run high in sports, and to fine Jr. for saying shit on live TV, they pretty much had to.

You knwo I never found anything on that windsheild thing. Nothing on the nascar site.

I agree $5000 is nothing. That is why I said the fines have got to get bigger. Maybe when they come close or surpass the winnings then they will think twice. Consistency either way is a must thats for sure.

As for the radio, if they can suspend a spotter for being disrespectful over them, then they should be suspending or fining or the likes for bad language as well. i agree emotions run deep, and I don't think a driver should be penalzied when they are in the heat of a race. They have more important things to think about then language. But they have to get their stuff together and become more consistent in it all.
