Gotta love a woman who will sit on the back porch, sip suds and watch the sun go down.

Nothing better than home brew. That will put you on your rear end quick....

Come and listen to a story about a man named Jed
A poor mountaineer, barely kept his family fed,
Then one day he was shootin at some food,
And up through the ground came a bubblin' crude. :2band

Granny..... where's that jug? 3rofl :cheers

The northwest is blessed with numerous micro breweries.
Many great IPA's. and other ales. I like Fat Tire and Alaska Amber among many others. Several good local Hefeweisens as well.
I drink a Labatt's Blue from time to time, but I don't usually drink pilseners.

I'm an American beer drinker. After so many years, I just really don't care for the taste of anything other that the AB products. Loved Bud Dry when it came out and was bummed when they cut back production and then the bars wouldn't carry it.

BUT! Sweeeet Justice!!!! The grocery stores are carrying it by the 30 pack for $14 !!!

When in Italy, I drank wine mostly. And Ireland it was Guinnes(sp?) Tried Guiness here and it just didn't do it for me. Just wasn't as smooth as out of the barrel in the pubs on the other side of the pond.
Then a friend brought over a 4 pack of Murphy's! Hell, that was it! Bud Dry for the everyday, standing around the grill, watching the game, or around the campfire beer. Murphys for meals and easin' back.
:cheers

That's one thing I miss about living in the Portland, OR area (that and the fishing). It was great on tap but at least I can find it bottled here.

I ain't givin up the jug until it's dry. I drank beer when I was young, back when Bud was still green. When they started aging it, it gave me a bad headache and even worse one in the morning. A good wiessen is about all I can take and that's only once in a while. I have since gone back to my roots, and will take a JD any day. :beer

Right now.................I'm sipping a cold Yuengling Traditional lager. mmmmm

The oldest family owned brewery in the USA. Actually, I'm sort of sick of it, but I keep going back.

Cheers y'all

My brother introduced me Yuengling - touted it as something great. The first time I tried it (bottled) I thought he must be joking - since I've had it draft and I find it to be much, much better that way!

Cheers.

...nothing is to be added to or used in beer other than barley, hops and water...

Sounds like a boring recipe to me...

Eric,
if you can take a week off... I`ll invite you for a roundtrip through
my city`s beer taverns. I`m sure you`ll make up your mind 2wave

That Purity Law saves you from headaches...

My favourite beers are...in that order:
dark König Ludwig, dark Andechser and dark Paulaner...
if that`s not available it`s dark or normal Hefeweizen,
and if even that fails...then I don`t care, any kind of beer will do 3rofl

After having some cold ones at the Hofbräuhaus in Las Vegas, Hofbräu is definitely our favorite. We finally got them to stock it at a local store! Nothing like beer from München!

I agree...that Pils they brew in Northern Germany is just too
bitter for my taste.

sirius, I`ve noticed the letter "ü" on your keyboard. Quite
rarely, isn`t it?

I like Carling products in Canada. Kilkenny is a very nice beer. There's a really nice beer from Quebec called Raftman. Very nice but a tad pricey. Kokanee from the Manitoba border west is nice, the stuff in Ontario isn't nearly as good. Brewed with glacier water out west, and brewed with city water in Ontario. A noticeable difference.

As far as whiskeys go, Gibson's Finest Silver (as TenPacks mentioned) is very nice. The only thing that goes in my rye is ice.

Actually it is real easy. All you have to do is to go into the control panel, and reset the keyboard layout to whatever foreign language you want. Once you add another layout, you get a little icon in the status bar to let you switch back and forth. Then all you have to figure out is where on the keyboard the letters like the ü (brackets), ö (semicolon), ä (apostophe), etc. are. Nothing to it if you want to be authentic!

Sirius, I tried that and it worked. Too bad I don't remember where the Umlaut keys are located at a German keyboard, of course the keys that are now the Umlaut keys got to be somewhere else on the keyboard, too much confusion for me. It's been quite a while!

on edit: MrsS., where are the Umlaut keys, if I remember it right they're some to the right of the "L"??? That's where I have the comma, doppelpunkt und semicolon.

Mills,
ü is in second row the last but one to the right next to p. ä is right below ü
( last one in third row right ) and ö is next to ä. Maybe this helps:

Good luck 2wave

As for beer...full carbs and full alc...or nothing :cheers :cheers
