Squid mentioned Guiness... pretty good stuff. I'm partial to Sam Adams Cream Stout, myself. The local microbrew puts out a Broad-Axe stout, however, that puts both of those to shame--goes down Smmmmoooooth! :beer :cheers |

..although lately I must confess that I've been more into the low carb stuff. Found a decent one, though. It's called Brigade beer, 3 carbs per can, only $11.00 for a 30-pack. |

Almost any tap out of a brewery is going to be better than a can/bottle. But corona light(only) for me. |

I like stout. Guinness is good but I think I like Murphy's better. As far as Canadian goes, Nelson Brewery makes a nice one called Blackheart Oatmeal Stout. Not always easy to find though, even in BC. |

I had a couple of bottles of Molson with a red label once while I was in Ottawa for a bit. Nice taste, and I thought it must have had more alcohol in it than it's U.S. equivalent. Mostly though I'm a boring domestic drinker. MGD in a can. It travels better than the bottles do when we're camping. I never warmed up to room temperature beer, or any of the dark stuff with the thick foam. |

Okanagan Springs is made in a small brewery in the town that my wife and I lived in from when we were married in '72, until I got transferred in '87 - Vernon, BC. Both my sons were born there and my folks still live there. |

Here's what I found on the Bavarian Beer Purity Law: Cut from the full text for brevity.... "We especially wish that, from this point on and everywhere in the countryside as well as in the towns and marketplaces, nothing is to be added to or used in beer other than barley, hops and water. Whosoever knowingly disobeys this decree will be severely punished by the court having jurisdiction over him by having his barrel of beer confiscated whenever this offense occurs." Sounds like a boring recipe to me. Kinda like my MGD. My wife's partial to the flavored beer. Up here there's a microbrewery called the Moose's Tooth. They sell pizza and many different kinds of beer. There's one called Pale Apple Ale that tastes so good you forget it's beer. Mmmmm. |

Tom T. Hall In some of my songs I have casually mentioned The fact that I like to drink beer This little song is more to the point Roll out the barrel and lend me your ears (chorus) I like beer. it makes me a jolly good fellow I like beer. it helps me unwind and sometimes it makes me feel mellow (makes him feel mellow) Whiskey’s too rough, champagne costs too much, vodka puts my mouth in gear This little refrain should help me explain as a matter of fact I like beer (he likes beer) My wife often frowns when we’re out on the town And I’m wearing a suit and a tie She’s sipping vermouth and she thinks I’m uncouth When I yell as the waiter goes by (chorus) Last night I dreamed that I passed from the scene And I went to a place so sublime Aw, the water was clear and tasted like beer Then they turned it all into wine (awww) I like beer. it makes me a jolly good fellow I like beer. it helps me unwind and sometimes it makes me feel mellow (makes him feel mellow) Whiskey’s too rough, champagne costs too much, and vodka puts my mouth in gear Aw, this little refrain should help me explain as a matter of fact I love beer (yes, he likes beer) |

For some reason this sounds like a rerun. Anyway for whats it's worth, I was a beer drinker ten years ago, then for some reason I lost the taste for beer. My wife and myself made a trip to Germany two years ago and sampled one of germany's most popular draft beers called BITBURGER. After that I started drinking beer again (only bitburger) and for the first time ever my wife could manage to drink a glass of beer. We live in Fort Myers with a large population of Germans and most stores carry it. slobote |

Wilbur, Ahh yes, I agree murphy's is better. My personal alltime favorite brew is Lancaster American Pale Ale for all purpose. I highly recommend it. Although Troegs cask conditioned ESB is exquisite. I am a connoisseur of fine brew. It sounds like you know your fine pleasures as well my man! :cheers :cheers :cheers |

The best beer that you can drink and eat is the Hefa Wissen. I used to drink/eat this stuff, but after an October Feast in Germany, I switched to whiskey. It doesn't give me a headache or belly ache. I remember seeing those who drank too much Wissen sitting on the john with their heads in the trash can because it was coming out both ends :beer |

All right. I'll be the first female to join in my most favourite topic in the universe - BEER! Cold and wet and as long as it gets in my mouth its fair game. I'm pretty partial to German beer myself after living there for 5 1/2 years. I drank Reigler and any of the weissen beers with lots of head. I'd have to say though that my favourite beers are from England. I love a really bitter stout; the darker the better. The kind where the taste stays in your mouth after you drink it. Thanks for the topic, Psyc. 2wave :dance |

You wouldn't be saying that if you'd tried my brother in law's home brew. It was absolutely disgusting. The furthest taste from beer I've ever tasted. I couldn't even gag it down. |
