The day was unrelenting in its bombardment of heat in the desolate Outlands. Paws treaded upon hard dusty ground and sharp amber eyes stared ahead at the cave that was ahead the dark swallowing up the light as the cave walls were faintly seen. Kondo had come simply to see the records upon the cave wall of his ancestor Zira. Supposedly he was related to the 'Great lioness' as his mother called her and he stopped just outside of the cave. He peered in, looking for the one image of Zira that he always seems to find, the one with the female lioness with her first born, Nuka. Kondo had heard every single detail of the history of Scar and Zira and all the others. He had made it a daily ritual to come pay respects to the past King and Queens of the Outlands. It was his own special thing, come and see the ones who made this place and give his own little thanks to them. He closed his eyes and silently called out to his personal ancestor. For a few moments he was quiet, his head bent slightly as he stood in the shadow of the cave's mouth, not stepping in but not entirely outside. He found himself sighing as his eyes opened and he turned, his dusty brown pelt dirty and his thick mane littered with bits of dust. His paws were slightly wet and muddy. He had participated in building that canal for the water, fully supporting the want to improve the outlands. This was his home and he would treat like his son. He would do everything to improve it if improvement could happen. Kondo turned and his eyes spotted another dirty pelt, this of a lioness. He took a few steps forward as he regarded her, waiting to see if she noticed him before he would make any kind of move. |

The large dusty male looked at Nia as she spoke, finding it odd that the lioness was apologeing to him despite the fact that both were welcome to the cave. He regarded her with slight disinterest, trying to hide the fact that he disliked her because he has known her to be rather lazy. "Hello Nia" He spoke with clipped tones, his voice monotone as he watched her with cold eyes. He shuffled one muddy paw to get more comfortable before glancing at the walls again. "Have you come to see the great Queen's?" His tone was still monotone, as if he didn't want an answer from her but his stare suggested he get one. "Or simply for a cool nap?" There wasn't any real threat to that sentence, nor was there any heated emotion of any kind but there was a fleeting look in his eyes that showed a bit of dislike. In the dark cave it would be hard for Nia to see the look as Kondo liked to hide his emotions and he did a fairly good job of it. Kondo stepped closer to Nia allowing himself to settle his hindquarters to the floor below him and he watched Nia. "And how are you this hot day?" Kondo attempted, poorly, at small talk and his tail idly flicked back and forth behind him. |

If only had she peered throught the gap a minute longer, Nia would've noticed the great orange eye that had just obscured "the best view in the place". Malta couldn't see anything because of the great lighting differences between the cave's outside and inside, but she made this just for fun. "Hello-ooo!" She greeted as she entered the cave, prancing like an antelope and stopping at a short distance from the Outlander duo. It would be difficult to see with the D. Cave's poor illumination, but the gray-ish lioness wasn't very gray today but her pelt was a (anti-)masterpiece of orange smears obtained by working on the famous trench project. The dry mud covered most of her face and made one wonder if she had been digging the trench or eating it. "Helloo-oo Sister and hello-oo, um... you... ehhhh..." The tawny lioness gestured with a paw as if trying to somehow help herself remember the name. "Kudu... nop... Kombo... nope..." She mumbled to herself as she failed to remember it. This lasted for a little while. "Kondo!" She said triumphantly, after a few minutes, and in the glory of having managed to remember the name all on her own she had accidentally raised her tone quite a bit and her voice echoed through the cavern. |
