here's another one for you to get mixed up with Maledictus & Magnificat, Sue! aww heck, just remembered "Masquerade". why not?! why not try & purposely confuse the viewers!! aieyaieyaie

-> this is the first episode of Criminal Intent I ever saw!!! (there's a story somewhere on this forum, I won't repeat it.)

-> I'm not sure if VDO & KE have ever looked this good so far in the series. absolutely amazing.

-> the arresting kid at the pharmacy scene. she TAKES. THAT. KID. DOWWN!!!! yanks him from up on a ladder to flat on his face, then straddles him to cuff him. awwyeah. I love how small, but enormously tough she is. idk if she'd be able to take that kid down like that irl, but I don't care. also, the whole handcuff thing is not always realistic, I've found. She always manages to do it waay too fast/smooth. in this ep, as the kid's walking away, for a second you can see his wrist in between two other people, there are no cuffs even on him! but again, I choose to suspend my disbelief for Eames' sake. :D

-> Alex is ON HER GAME! this episode!! the scene following the aforementioned arrest, in the interrogation room, is nearly something out of a sit-com. I just love her here.
she fires off a list of the evidence against the kid. (I think I should find his name, it's even annoying me calling him "kid".) very fast. "we have _____, we have ____..." then glances at Bobby, "am I missing something?" (of course in the usual KE "suhthing" style, man I love that.) Bobby returns, "the sneaker"
Eames: "we have a SNEAKER print that matches..." she's just like, being cheeky. haha! please note my reiteration of the scene doesn't do it justice.

->confronting Frank Lowell.
was that heartbreaking, or what.

just look at Eames. She looks about as upset here as she ever has on the show. I don't think I've ever noticed her expressions in this scene, the audience's attention is diverted by Goren's arm reaching for Frank's shoulder.
I thought it was interesting during this scene that Alex stepped in and took over the talking after Bobby said hesitantly, "there's no easy way to say this...". of course, she brings up the point about the diluted medication. I'm not sure if this is what Bobby was going to say, and she volunteered because she saw it was going to be very hard for him, or whether Bobby was going to bring up the suicide thing first and she thought they should let him know about the chemotherapy first.
either way, it's interesting. Bobby looks kind of shocked/surprised when she does it. I'm sure some of you will have thoughts on this one! :)

-> remember two eps ago, Best Defense, and "he'll get over it" at the end?? well, we have our confirmation of where Eames is at with Carver.

"it's a fine piece of detective work, but I can't use it."

 loveit!

and then, the cherry on top: Carver leaves, Eames: "Good News Charlie."

there ya have it.

but then there's also the fact that her boob is pretty much touching him in that still. idk about this proximity thing being a valid measuring stick of anything. it could just all be about fitting in frame.

-> unity in colors again in this one. and this time BLUE... mmm

-> can someone explain to me how exactly they solved the case in a way that would not implicate Frank Lowell, if in fact they succeeded. I just didn't exactly understand that. It seemed like a pretty huge deal earlier in the ep, but it's not mentioned outright at the end.

I think Mr. Lowell was spared because Bobby got the religious pharmacist to confess.

This is another favorite episode.

The part you're talking about where Bobby seems to hesitate telling the man about the diluted chemo drugs and Eames jumps in and says what she says (I've forgotten exactly how this went down), didn't Bobby say to the man "You thought we were going to say something else, didn't you?"

That makes me think they discussed it thoroughly beforehand and/or they read each other at that moment as to what to say. It was a sad, sad episode. That actor who played Frank Lowell was Richard Bright (he was in all of the Godfather movies) was superb in the role. This was the first time I'd ever seen him play a good guy.

Even though the pharmacist was evil incarnate, I felt the bigwig Reverend who pressured him so much was also at fault, but unfortunately, apparently not by the letter of the law, so he got away scott free. He deserves to go to one of Dante's little corners of hell someday too.

BTW, actor Richard Bright was hit by a bus and killed a few years back, on a street in Manhattan.

that last fact makes the ep so, so much sadder.

Oh yeah, VDO and KE look awfully nice in this ep! And I just love it when his hair is extra curly!
And Eames' expression is priceless in that Carver pic LOL.... As for her breasts (well you naughty shippers ;) ), as you proposed I believe it's just for frame purpose...
There's a moment that I really love in this ep you haven't mentioned. At the pharmacy, when they went for the first time I believe (?), Bobby climbs the counter and Eames is like "Don't worry, he does this all the time"... She doesn't even know what he's about to do, but trust lives between them... Cool team work B)

He really relishes the bull in a china shop role, doesn't he? My all time favorite "messing with a store" time is the toy store (7 Weapons In One!), toy gun demonstration. Eames is so very amused by the shenanigans.

But I guess the quintessential china shop bull was the time in the actual china shop where he was trying to knock over stuff with his butt.

Sorry to be a party pooper, but ya know, I think the "boob contact" is another optical illusion like the one Unicorn pointed out in the pic from "Silencer" in the parallel pics thread.

Even if it is a touch I agree with the framing theory.

Only Goren gets the real touch!
