one of my all-time faves. mostly because of their absolutely stellar good-cop-bad-cop routines. mostly the 1st one, "marking up" Randolph's territory. oh man, some of the funniest Goren stuff to date!!   I can't help but laugh at his funny accent, how he steals the kid's cigarettes (then throws it out after and sticks his tongue out! ) and laughs likes Santa Claus in the background when Eames is talking to Terry. but of course, the pinnacle: "Cluster Sargeant!" ~ and he salutes, doing this scalloping-thing with his hand. classic. he is just too good for words! the second instance, while less funny, is brilliant. he loses the accent, so Randolph's all believing it, like the act is over. NOT! baha! the whole "you're outta line" thing. (tootally believed that was real the first time I saw the ep (a long time ago) :ph43r: ) -> Denise(COD's secretary), whatever that whole thing's even about, idk, surfaces here. -> we find out E's old man retired from the force -> Deakins on Phil LeGrand: "he's been around the dance floor too often." ~there's the dancing thing again. E2A: I forgot to mention this: before discovering who Terry Randolph is, going thru paperwork, Eames: "here's one reason she may have been denied detective - Terry Randolph's a woman." ~what I'm getting from this is that it's really, really hard for a female to make detective, and Eames obviously knows this, so it must have been very very difficult for her to do so. Makes Loyalty mean so much more

Watched this one today. I love the part outside the fall guy's house when Bobby is all, "Is that a lobster wriggling around down there?" He and Alex seem to have fun playing that guy. Also, she doesn't take the threat of a rival in Denise too seriously, does she? Either this is before she realizes she's in love with him or she is fully aware she has him eating out of the palm of her hand. Is Denise ever mentioned again? This is one of those disturbing episodes where I have to remind myself not to feel sorry for the perp, who in many ways wants what all parents want in a better life for their children. She just massacred a family to keep that goal on track. |

The juxtaposition of "Denise? You dog!" to her new way of acting toward his "doggyness" in Silver Lining's "that sounds about right" is rather stunning, IMHSO. SOMEthing definitely changed. |
