not tons to say on this one, but enough to have to create a thread. Eames' snark and the banter between the two continues to be top-notch and prominent. I absolutely love the "did you tell him he plucks his eyebrows?" thing, and Deakins looks at Eames, Eames nods like, "well, yeah." Masochism theme again. maybe someone should start a thread on this theory (not sure how to word that innocently tho )? I have to admit I haven't really got the entire gist of all the discussions we've had about it, probably because the person posting doesn't just come out and say exactly what they mean, which I totally understand, but some of us are a tiny bit naive to some innuendo. (not by choice, idk how that happened, I am 23 and married, I'm not like a nun or something, but somehow I miss out on a lot of things the general population knows about the world of innuendo.) ...that is, IF you guys think it's really important to the ship. if not, I don't really need to have a deep explanation of what you see in CI regarding this stuff. but it DOES seem to be a recurring theme. I'm definitely intrigued. like Eames says in this scene: "I learn something new every day! " haha! so funny.I love it when they're in my beloved white north interrogating the prostitute, and Bobby claps beside her ear... "did you smack him? hard?" haha tooootally playing to the audience imo. on this thread's sub-title, I find this ironic (not only because there's that "Loyalty" theme again) because of the word "truthfulness" and what Bobby encourages Kenny to do at the end of the ep - use "fiction" on his sister in order to sustain her image of him. This is just MHO, but I think what Bobby did here was wrong. but I still love him, of course and I know he had the best of intentions.

One of my favorite Eames lines ever is in this one. When Goren is pulling the blingy necklace out of the head in the box and asks Eames, "what do you think this means?" And she deadpans perfectly, "Robbery wasn't a motive." Cracks me up every time. |

I have to confess... I've only seen this ep once or twice. This one and "Magnificat". I just find them too disturbing. I cry for those kids and their moms and a heavy sad feeling stays with me too long. Maybe I'll try to watch this one up to the point where they figure out what happened in that kitchen. Bobby has used "fiction" before in different forms: Keeping Melanie's secret in "The Faithful", not revealing that the widower in "Malignant" helped his wife die, persuading Robby's dad to confess so Robby wouldn't learn that his lie led to Kim's murder in "Bright Boy", hiding the woman's secret in "Sex-Club" from her daughter...I guess some of these are more like "hiding the truth" but Bobby's motive was the same....protecting people.
LOL  Classic old-school Eames snark. Hope we see that come back- she has been waaaay too serious last few years! |

Funny you say that, Skittles, as when this thread opened, I had to reach into my memory banks because I confused its title with "Magnificat." That episode ticks me off in a big way, but I'll wait for a thread to begin lest I take it off-topic. As for this episode, I do declare I think VDO looks especially fine in it. |

This isn't snark necessarily, but one of my other favorite Eames scenes (because she laughs excellently) is when she's reading to Michael York from his 'biography' that he was gross and smelled bad, and then goes into a mini giggle fit. |

No, sorry about that. I've traveled far, far afield from Maledictus, I'm afraid. I'm referring to Slither. You know, 'cause it's the Maledictus thread, LOL. |
