I really don't know if I'm gonna get through it all before April... April, right? here's hopin that gets pushed back a little, just mho so I gotta start keepin them short & sweet: -> I liked the scene where the homeless dude offers Bobby a puff of his cigarette (from the ground!! EEWW!!) and Goren takes it, immediately looking over to where Eames is to see if she's looking. not sure what it means, but thought it worth mentioning. her opinion must mean a lot to him? also, is Bobby's character supposed to be a smoker? it kinda seems like it in scenes like this, but then there's Badge where he throws it on the ground and makes a "blech" face. (yes, I know VDO is a smoker). -> this is the first mention/any sort of clue about Bobby's experience with mental differences, Eames gives him a compliment on how he dealt with Howard (which seemed a little awkward for her, the kind of compliment it's easier not to say, but you do because you "like" the person and you want them to know you think they're great) and he says "lots of practice". -> in the arcade, Kevin swings at Alex, Bobby takes. him. out. very protectively. almost goes a teeny bit overboard, anyone else see this? bashes him against some game machines just for good measure. and then of course "you shouldn't have taken a swing at my partner". ->one o' them mentions of her looks, already again. Kevin Donovan says "you're waay too hot to be a cop" (of course he's just saying it in an attempt to butter her up, but of course he meant it, b/c she is). ->ok I need help w/ this one. when they go to Chiggy's house, and question his father, the father goes to wake Chiggy up. Goren reaches for his gun, Alex does this weird signal thing with her hand - pats her chest a couple times, like how you imitate a heartbeat. cop code for something? making sure her badge was there?? I really want to know :ph43r: -> Alex states that her social life needs help. -> the first appearance of Rodgers. (WHOOOP!!) ->and of course, the famous ending. B: "it's worth it to you, wreckin this life, just to see McShale go to prison?" gosh, bobby. a little harsh. WRECKING A LIFE?! it's not like she's murdering someone... I get it. don't get me wrong. but overkill imhso, making Alex out to be so cold again. how mean. |

I've always been on Goren's side about the nice woman's life not being wrecked. I think Goren already knew exactly what he was going to do - talk McShale into confessing so there would be no trial, and no exposing of the woman's past... and she obviously had a pretty good life going. She committed no crime. I don't think Eames is cold in this scene, she's doing what she's supposed to. I think she said it the way she said it because Goren challenged her about it, kind of backing her into saying it that way. He did not let her in on his plans. It was the first time we see Goren going out of the way to get a confession in order to spare someone something. Like later, when he gets the Bright Boy father to confess, so the boy will never know that a lie he told resulted in a murder and his father going to prison. He did a similar thing (including Eames this time) when they didn't want to tell on the poor man in Malignant whose wife died. I've wondered periodically while watching this series if there were cops like him in real life. I hope so. |

I personally never took Bobby's behind-glance as him making sure she wasn't looking, until when one of us brought it up several months ago... I always thought he looked behind just for the hell of it *shrugs* I mean, in other occasions he makes no effort to hide it... On the other hand, one can argue that given the dirty circumstances and the possibility of it being the first time Eames sees him smoking, maybe him verifying makes sense
Well, in "The Pilgrim", near the ending, he told the bomber (2002) that he quit smoking 7 years ago, however, being in the uniform again makes him unable to resist a smoke (I don't think he was bluffing about the 7 years ago thing...)
Oh yeah, this was noticed ![]()
Ok... I'm clueless on that one too ![]()

here's another attempt at an analysis of this one: CI Fans Unite I'm still no closer to understanding what she is doing there  but I really enjoy the animations. is one of you guys havers? it almost sounds like the writer of this post read my first post in this thread... not that there's a problem with that, tho, just interesting how many of the same points are brought up! ![]() |
