first off, I'm an artist. in many areas of my life, but I do have an affinity for visual arts, painting, drawing, etc. so I just love this episode, I love that it's one of the first ones. other than that, surprisingly little to report. a couple subtle instances though, of shippiness/something possibly related: talking to Langer: Eames kinda gets all stern about a subpoena. Langer: (something to the effect of) "there's nothing in this life I love more than being threatened by a beautiful woman." (while giving Alex the once-over) Bobby rolls his eyes. I find this exchange interesting because while we have a few instances very similar to this one throughout the series (which alone suggests her beauty/others noticing it is a theme the PTB feel is very important), it was obviously important enough to be in one of the founding episodes. and Goren's reaction to this, of course. why is this so significant, you guys think? idk. setting the tone for something, idunno what tho. it's almost as if he doesn't think she's beautiful in this scene, the way he just blows off the comment. I get that it was slimy and annoying, but man, just smile awkwardly or something, don't roll your eyes, the girl might see you and get the wrong idea!! I just thought it was weird. it's like they're saying "he hasn't realized yet" however, in the same episode, there is not only the famous counter leaning scene (no cap, sorry, but it's the one where she's bent over the counter at the university and he's standing right behind her, very close, someone on here (paulie????) once said it is the main conclusive evidence they use to determine that they have been horizontal by this time), but also this one: ![]() ![]() they look cozy. that's all BA FOREEVVERRRRR! ![]() |

I always thought Bobby's eye roll meant this: "Jeez... they'll try anything to put you off guard"... see? |

yeah, that's of course what I thought of first, too. I'm probably just looking too far into it but still, why have this be a recurring theme, and why in the second ep? Either they're trying to keep us reminded that Bobby's working with a beautiful woman, and therefore must know this (SHIP), or the law-enforcement consultants for the show must have told them that this is a very common occurrence in the cop world, when the cop is good looking - the perp tries to flirt to distract, or w/e... I'll try to stop over-analyzing now... :ph43r:  |

Sorry to keep bringing up SVU but it's on topic! Olivia's beauty and hotness etc. is referred to in almost every other episode. It gets to be a bit much IMO. There ARE several references to Eames' beauty, but a couple where she is put down too. (Depths, Lady's Man) |

OMG about Depths. I hate that "smokin hot but old" line by scuzzball guy. In all honestly, Eames never looked so burnin' HOTTT as she did in that episode. |

i agree, Paulie. it's deliberate in 'depths' tho', ain't it???? she DOES look smokin' hot. and, she and Bobby find out that Rodgers and Ross are playing mattress tag. and the suspect woman (named ... ?) brings up Eames' 'blonde beauty' in the interrogation room when she says that she must have waited tables, too. and so on. so, in 'the good doctor' (i'm still doing season one) Bobby tells Lisa, the gf of 'the good doctor' that she's more than just a little bit beautiful (can't recall his exact words) and there's Eames standing right behind extra beautiful Lisa, with the exact same kind of facial features that make Lisa a beauty ... are we meant to think that he hasn't noticed what Eames looks like? O_o |

Well, there's always (from Posthumous Collection): "Almost as pretty as the real thing." Even before my shipper days, this stood out. |

Thinking back on a lot of the older episoes, you can tell that Bobby's 'type' is tall, brunette, shapely, and beautiful.. I am sure that he notices how attractive Eames is but I don't think she is physically his type; until of course they fall in love. |

i'm starting with this grinning face because i'm being just very 'duh' and not trying to be argumentative ... but who are you folks referring to? the only character i recall looking like this was Irene, and folks, one would need to be utterly without senses to not find that woman attractive. she's incredibly beautiful. ![]() ![]() so very beautiful, she'd stop traffic. one would need to be without senses, or very very gay, or ... dead perhaps. she seems nice and smart, too. friendly. normal. so, realistically, was he all that interested in her? for one, he asked her to bring her money to the poker game. bring her money to the poker game??? how long has it been since he's seen her??? oh, how romantic. (this is sarcasm.) also, he apparently didn't care enough about her to even know that she'd moved on with someone else (Carlos), and that their relationship had become so serious that they were saving up for a house. she doesn't indicate that she and Bobby were ever close. she calls him "Goren" and she tells him that he blew his chance. i'd bet that Irene is someone from his old neighbourhood. like Lewis. i'm thinking it's like Danny Zuko and Rizzo in 'Grease' ... long ago, ancient history. he doesn't really look all that sad about it, does he?? ![]() have i pissed folks off yet? sorry. but aside from Irene, i can think of Margie the chemistry teacher from 'pas de deux', the dominatrix in 'proud flesh' and Lesley the lizard as characters who'd fit that general description. help, shippers!! who am i missing? in my (erm) humble view, the only woman who has ever even remotely interested him (ASIDE FROM EAMES) was Nicole Wallace. Nicole is blonde, brown eyed, and roughly the same size as Eames. they even dress alike. ![]() ![]() ship. sorry again. i am a bossy know it all. but i'm here for fun fun fun til producers take my shippy away. okay. yeah. that was dumb. here are some :hugs: and happy new year cheers! |

Happy New Year.....Let's see, the women who turned Bobby's head. I am really bad at remembering episode titles but here we go....the dark haired waitress in "Person on interest"...there was another dark haired waitress that Bobby and Alex were interviewing and when she walked away he turned to Eames and went "whoo." That was the same episoed where he was very attracked to the suspects dark haired wife, the chick who's hand he was holding in the captiains office. Also, the same woman who played his old poker friend was in "Privilege" and she was the wife/attorney that Bobby gave the once over to in the interigation room....Gee, am I missing anyone? It doesn't change the fact that Eames is the love of is life, it just proves that Bobby is a guy and he's gonna check out an attractive woman when he sees one. Makes him more human to me.

Yes, I remember the waitresses too. The episode Callie is referrering to is "But not Forgotten" and he holds Isobel's hand in the captian's office (but he knew that she set up a murder). Let's not forget Nelda! (as much as we would like to!) She was tall, but blond/brown or hazel eyed...like someone else. Seems I remember Noromos shipping Bobby with the ballistics chick in Albatross. She was even shorter than Eames and had dark hair and eyes. Agree with Callie. He is just a normal (in this case) guy who checks out women!
