RARE EARLY EPISODE SHIPPY TELL SIGHTING!!! In this season 2 episode, Bobby says that he once read the Koran to impress a girl he met when he was in the Army overseas. The camera goes to Alex and stays on her an extra beat, I guess to show her reaction. She looks like she is trying not to show that she is a little jealous....IMSO. Now WHY would they make sure we saw Alex's reaction? Why would that be important? Yeah, it is shippy to me! |

GF read this post and then ran off to the zapruder machine. I'll be back to report the findings in a while.

If I wasn't a shipper, this would be my absolute favorite episode... Finding that look was a great catch. She looks like she's filing that information away for future reference. |

It does make one go "hmmmm": right when he says "there was a girl who lived near the base.." she has these looks at him: ![]() ![]() ---------------------- As to why GF won't join up here, we discuss this on an almost daily basis. I wish she would. She has great fanfic ideas but she just isn't a fan of forums. Yet. I'll wear her down. I always do. ![]() ---------------------- (OT for this thread, but oh well) We started discussing other shippy stuff and GF thought of something I find quite interesting and funny: try to think of Goren and Bishop playing as a couple, undercover, the way Eames and he did so comfortably. You can't do it. |

Unless they are playing a couple in divorce court LOL! Beautiful pics Paulie! Yes, that is the look. Why show that? Why not Ethan's reaction? (I think he is the one in the room with them) Shippy tell!
Why is it not your favorite because you are a shipper? Because of his "wanted to impress a girl by reading the Koran" comment? If so, I totally get that! I can't stand to watch the scene in "Badge" when Bobby talks about being with Denise the night before. I always ff thru that! I just don't like to hear him talk about dating other women. However, strangely enough, I don't mind when Eames talks about her date with Terry. At the end of this ep, I LOVE the way Bobby and Alex look in the Desert Storm fatigues! Especially when they are walking together at the very end. It must have been funny for the wardrobe people looking for 1 big and tall size and 1 petite size! I don't know why, but I like it when their difference in size is accentuated. |

I still love the episode but it's not my favorite just because it's been surpassed by episodes like Blindspot, Loyalty, Lady's Man that are blatantly shippy. |

if i may be an obsessed shipper ...
he never said he was dating her. he said he was certain she was not the source of the leak because he knew she had an alibi. Eames makes an assumption that he does not affirm. we can make that assumption, too. but as far as loci is concerned, i'd rather not assume. i'd rather ship.
i hate it more. ![]() and (yes, i know, KE's former husband is named Terry and there is an inside joke there ... ) Eames said Terry was her date. in 'badge', an enormously big deal is made of the fact that Terry Randolph is a WOMAN, not a man (as Bobby assumed.) again, i'd rather not assume. i'd rather ship. so i'm just not going to assume that Eames' "date" was a man. no, i do not see anything at all crazy about this. i do not believe i am reading things in, or engaging in too much wishful thinking. honestly, people. no offense, and pardon the logical fallacy (because i WAS both single and pregnant), but NOBODY "dates" a woman who is pregnant with a baby that isn't his, or even more bizarre - isn't really hers and that she doesn't intend to keep. get a grip. being single and pregnant is a lot like having a highly contagious disease. nobody is in a hurry to get to know you. i'm gonna guess that Eames knows a lot of people who are first responders. cops, fire fighters, paramedics, and so on. anybody she knows could have phoned her up and said, "C'mon Alex, i need someone to come with me to this stupid function. it'll do you good to get out and be with people." and this is so the wrong thread for this ... |

Ooooohhh, so many good references happenin' here. I've got to chime in. Badge/"Denise" - this is one of those 'canon' things that still lends itself to interpretation. It could be that Bobby 'the dog' spent the night with Denise; it's meant for us to assume this I think, because that's the conclusion Eames jumped to. OR... in my humble shipper's opinion (and based on a lifetime of being around 'dogs') the guy who did spend the night with that tart Denise bragged about it to his buddies, one of whom was Bobby. Badge/"Terry" - I completely concur with unicorn's take on how easy - not - it is for a single preggo chick to get a date these days. tsk, tsk. I think "Terry" might be her brother in law. Or a woman. Or a friend. Whatever you think, check out the look on Deakins' face when she says it was a date. He's beyond incredulous. It's obvious to me at that point that Eames has not got a significant other in her life - that Deakin's knows about - OR... (the gf's belief) he knows about BA (and wonders why is she tweaking Bobby, who obviously doesn't like what she said). OR... (my belief) Eames is saying it to throw Deakin's off the track of BA. |

or -- saying it because she wants the people she works with to see her a certain way. or NOT in another way. like, NOT as a lonely (even if it's true, and having a near-term fetus in your uterus that isn't yours would most likely cause some feelings of loneliness to come up.) ... i think Eames is private and justifiably proud. she's a woman in a brutally-sexist job. she'd want her colleagues to think of her as strong, independent, busy, popular ... (sought after.) Deakins (bless him) is a seriously old-fashioned guy. his old-fashioned view of women comes up all the time. i imagine Eames would be an enigma to him, and i imagine that she'd be fine with letting him think what he wants to think. the Denise thing ... with reference to 'the pilgrim' ... if these quick little looks are tells, then the way Bobby looks (in 'badge') when Eames calls him a dog is very telling. again, we can assume what Eames assumes, but i don't want to. i want to think that there's a reason he looks so freaking pained, and i'm going to keep noticing that she's busy on the phone and doesn't seem to catch that he looks pained. that's what i'm going to pay attention to. ahem ... why would vdo do that? put on a facial expression NOT for the benefit of the character he is interacting with, but for us???? (ship.) |

OOOOOOO!!!! So much good shippy talk! See why I love coming here? Y'all help me see so far beyond the simple conclusions and make me think of ALL the possibilities!!! I choose the shippy explanations too! Oh yes, I can watch "Badge" now with new eyes :ph43r: !!! So back to "The Pilgrim"... wonder how impressed that girl was with Goren! You can bet Alex was wondering too! ![]() |

Hehehe, a fly on the wall at my house* would have had to start taking notes a long time ago to keep up with all the possible story lines we toss into the pot. These are but a few of the usual elements & arguments involved in our "season 2, specifically Badge, discussions": - Eames is successful in her brutally sexist workplace because she tries hard to make all the right moves - sometimes this means being 'one of the guys' - one way to show you're 'one of the guys' is to engage in sexist workplace sex chatter with 'the guys' (poor Denise) - note how different Eames' reaction is when compared to her clear irritation at 'guy behavior' in Silver Lining (why doesn't she shoot him that same disgusted look in Badge?) because... - she knows that Denise slept with someone other than Bobby - and in Silver Lining he obviously did or tried to do a "hit and run booty call" - so in Badge it was for show and not personal and in Silver Lining is was personal? - yes - being pregnant would compromise her hard earned position in such an environment - she and Goren are breaking rules by being involved - he is not the father, she really is a surrogate - he is the father and the surrogacy story is their very viable solution to keeping everything under wraps - it is a strain on the relationship - no it isn't - yes it is - why was she mad in Silver Lining and not here?** - because in Badge she was still kind of new and had to try harder - and by Silver Lining their 'secret' was well known by Deakins, plus she was more secure in her job etc. etc. *except when my brothers are home, because they make fun of us. **we like to go 'round and 'round on the subject |

OMG Paulie, 'hit and run booty call' - love it! I am still on the fence about that. Would Bobby try that with Eames??? IDK, I think he has too much respect for her to try that. I think they were "dating" back in this period but I don't think they were hitting the sheets til later...But the sexual tension in this episode is palpable. Anywho....as far as Denise, sure, of course Bobby hit that. He was a "dog" at the time. He's tall, smart, and handsome, women were always flirting with him. I don't think it bothered Eames at all, she thought it was funny. Maybe it made her think more about Bobby "in that way." I think it would have humanized Bobby to her, make her see him as more than her brilliant, crime solving partner. |

Sorry friends, I have to say....he was with Denise the night before. But hey...don't despair. It was before they recognized their feelings for each other. Put it this way. Could you really see the Bobby Goren of season 4 onward saying something like that. No Way. Badge is when she first announced her pregnancy right? Don't forget, its only when Alex is on leave that he realizes his feelings for her. And, IMHO, he feels for her before she does for him. Hence, the "date" with Terry. I don't think Alex really returned his feelings until sometime around or just after Semi-Detached. Ship! |

One other thing...sorry. Let's not forget that Alex is still in mourning for Joe. It hasn't been that long since he died? right? She's not ready for anything serious. |
