while it was 'untethered' that first got me going 'wtf?' as far as the whole question of B/A is concerned ...
it was actually, really this episode that convinced me that they've got something going on while we're not looking.

Eames goes from this ...
Posted ImagePosted ImagePosted Image
(she looks pretty mad)

to this ...

in about fifty hours. i'm thinking at least some of that time was spent asleep.
so, wtf?
since when does Eames touch Bobby (uh, period) to get his attention when he's sitting right beside her?

i say this is at least as compelling as the 'your heart' sign.

something else i really like from this episode is the interview with Roy ... Eames is so cool.
Posted Image
if i could have just a fraction of her cool ...

i don't have a still of it, (it's a motion thing, and subtle, so it wouldn't make a still) but she most definitely takes a step toward Bobby when she leaves the room. if i were thinking with a different kind of brain, i might think she steps aside to get out of the doorway. but i think with my brain.
so i think it's that relative gravity thing with them. as close as you can get without actually touching.
that's shippy to me.

Well, this is one ep that always makes me scratch my head... They made up somehow ;)

I do find Bobby a little pathetic in this one, especially at the scene where he's like "you're exactly right Eames"... Ok, he's not just plain pathetic in the ep. I do kinda want to give him a hug, mostly in the first scenes that uni. so nicely put up for us :)
I just love it how Eames is over-ignoring him, lol! She just really wants to make him pay... God, she looks pissed off really!

Well, i always had a different take on this epi than others (of course I did!! I wouldn't be me without adding any skepticism....now would I? but that's what you love me for right? Right?)

Anyway....I never felt bad for Bobby at the beginning of Betrayed. I thought it was kinda funny, too, in a way. Alex holds all the cards and she knows it. That little "you need both of us on this?" comment, is so Alex.

See, my take on it is that She and Ross had some sort of conversation either before or after this comment...most likely after when Kathy Jarrow made that "not in synch" comment. I really think Ross told Alex ' make up your mind. Either stay with Goren and work it out or be done with it and I reassign you both'. Also, Eames is nothing if not professional. I think she and Bobby probably did have some sort of "reconciliation" but not necessary the "ahem" type you all think they did. And I think there was some begging on Bobby's part as well. But yes, clearly they've resolved some of the issued by the time the "desk" scene comes up. As far as them touching, not such a big deal in my book. I could be sitting right next to my husband, or child, or whoever and something comes up and i automatically move my hand to touch them to further their attention. But..... if I recall correctly, the next epi after that was "Vanished" and that was a little shippy to me. The whole 'unresolved issues with a man in your life' was awesome.

BTW, I don't know how to start a new thread, but one epi that bothers me in relation to the B/A shippiness is Smile. Not because of the comment (which I took by the way to mean "it's too late, I'm with you for good or for bad now. I could never leave you. I love you" (LOL). It bothered me because of Bobby's date with the Lizard lady. And, sadly, it had to be a date. Otherwise, why didn't she just have dinner with Goren AND Eames? Why didn't she meet Goren and Eames on the Ferry. I actually think Bobby was little hurt when he found out Lesly was using him. I dont' like even thinking that Bobby could want to be with anyone other than Alex. Ever.

One more thing...Uni's FF is awesome! If you haven't read it, you must. Right now.

But if it was a date, don't you think it was a date that Eames encouraged and knew about before it happened? She's seen how he can turn on the charm with the ladies and she sort of suggested the same kind of thing in Masquerade. It might even have been her idea.

And I agree with you on Uni's ff - I'm just loving it.

But if it was a date, don't you think it was a date that Eames encouraged and knew about before it happened?  She's seen how he can turn on the charm with the ladies and she sort of suggested the same kind of thing in Masquerade.  It might even have been her idea.

hey likeit - you can start a new thread with an icon at the top right side of this page called 'new topic' - you can't see it from the 'posting' page, only from the 'reading' page. i would very much like to discuss 'smile' with y'all, too!
likeit! start that thread, and then i'll transfer my comments over. (hurry!)

but MaryE, i gotta respectfully and with much love disagree about Eames knowing about his little 'dinner interview' with icky lizard. only because THIS is what she looked like when he told them where he'd got the 'smoking gun' (memo) -
Posted Image
and the look is so fast, 'fleeting' really, that it's almost not there. he's all relaxed and 'mr. smile', and she is clearly not amused.

and i think it is a freakin' date. they had food and alcoholic beverages after hours, and her hair is down.
(maybe he's 'investigating' and maybe he's being played by a tart in a red coat ... idk.)

i used to think ... :( well, you know. and i was very  about it. but last summer, Erica pointed out that the nasty icky lizard would most definitely have said something if anything even vaguely 'personal' had transpired between them. she woulda, too. made a big fuss, screamed about it. filed a complaint. so nothing happened.
and then i was

personally, i detest the episode. i hate it when they aren't getting along. and i want to kick him in the shins when he bounces into the coffee room and just blurts out that he got the memo from Lesley. (what an ass.)
and then i want to kick her at the end. (i mean, look at him.)

oooh! and then, the 'water carrier' comment is a direct lizard quote, so three guesses what Eames is still thinking about (how many months later??) when she tells him off in 'purgatory'??? he stands there, all ready to defend himself until she says that; "You're the genius and I carry your water", and then he reacts - suddenly looks darn uncomfortable, too.

i'm in the 'touching is a very big deal' camp, as far as that goes. this is the third? time she has touched him in front of us, and the first time was accidental.
but i'm with your take on what 'too late' means, likeit -

and that's SHIPPY to me.

(aw shucks, folks! thanks for the affirmations!)

You got that right likeit; I personally adore you skepticism :P
The way Eames was making Bobby pay throughout the ep was funny to me too (including the start). I just can't help it but pity the big guy, you know? Just look at his face when she walks by him! It's both cute and pitiful to me :rolls eyes:

I can say I'm kinda skeptic too 'cause I'm still fence riding on whether it was the actual "ahem" make up (lol) or simply a conversation... However, I lean more towards a conversation. But I don't think either of them actually had a talk with Ross... idk. If B/A had a talk without Ross' assistance, I think it's actually Bobby who started it. Why? Well, his "you're exactly right Eames" makes me think so...

It's funny when I look back and realize that I wasn't a shipper when I first watched "Vanishing Act" (lol). And that scene, with the magician reading Eames always got me thinking "Ok... this is weird" ('weird' like 'shippy').... I mean that sentence could of been shaped in other ways. Instead of saying "with a man in your life", he could of said "with a freind in your life" or simply "with somebody in your life". Well, you guys get the idea;) SHIP!!!

Also me too likeit, it's itching me to write down my thoughts about "Smile" :P

uh-oh ... am i confused again? what'd i say that's confusing?
(dang it! so confused ... )

yep, 'betrayed' IS after 'untethered' and 'purgatory' - i think we're supposed to get that it's their next case. Ross says "he is just getting off suspension" about Bobby.

but a bunch of 'smile' stuff got mixed in here. obviously. just like i posted the same dang stills on almost every thread now. (lol) i'll clean things up. put some of my pix away.
i think Eames references Lesley LeZard during that little confrontation (purg) with the "I just carry your water" comment -- it's something Lesley said about her boss (the pale dumb guy played by Jim 'Hot Pocket' Gaffigan). maybe i'm wrong - i was talking to someone else who said it's such a common turn of phrase that it likely just popped up twice.
but i don't think so.

if it's so common, shouldn't it have turned up more that twice?

and, the writers were having Dr. Stern and Dr. Borman come up years after 'zoonotic' ('the prisoner') so i think the writers have long memories.

i think Eames was WAY more pissed at him about that particular 'solo' investigation than she let on.

(yet another reason she might be acting weird about his 'pin' date with Nelda. she just plain does not like it when he goes out on dates with other women.)

me (i'm quoting myself!)

since when does Eames touch Bobby (uh, period) to get his attention when he's sitting right beside her?

as a matter of fact, she does this in 'smile' too. he's right beside her, she touches him to get his attention. from her, it seems like a strangely vulnerable gesture.
(and so he goes out for dinner with 'Lesley'. honestly. KICK!)

(wonder where likeit went? hey likeit! where are you??)

NOBODY EVER DID START A 'SMILE' THREAD AND MY NAME IS ON DARN NEAR EVERYTHING!! i feel like a most pathetic megalomaniac (usin' fancy words, too :D ), or just a plain-old space hog.
SOMEONE LIKE CALLIE OR PAULIE V OR MARYE OR S.B. OUR NEWEST SHIPPER 'SKITTLES4ME' PLEASE START A 'SMILE' THREAD.
:ph43r: (this is me staring at you.)

Well, I did start the totally gratuitous DAW thread *pats self on back*.

But I digress ... I want to say that "Blues" is so very good.

I have not read Cyrano yet, but thanks for the link! It's going to be a good day.

ultimately we'll have a thread for every freakin' ep. well, maybe not 'ill-bred'. or 'graansha' (however it's spelled.)

and,
thank you very much, Paulie. :) my odd labour of love. homage. tribute. act of worship.
Eames ...

which reminds me ...

"Eames - Nicole Wallace : the 'antithesis' of each other", anybody?

and, the writers were having Dr. Stern and Dr. Borman come up years after 'zoonotic' ('the prisoner') so i think the writers have long memories.

A few more examples of the writers "long term memory"

-In "Grow" (season 5) Nicole tells Bobby 'you out of all people mistrusting a librarian'... If you haven't watched "The Pilgrim" (season 2) where Bobby mentions that his mom was a librarian, you wouldn't understand what Nicole's talking about B)

-"Acts of Contrition" (season 5), Eames mentions Bobby being a lapsed altar boy and the first time we learned about this was back in season 1, "The Faithful"...

-Another good example could be the whole 'scone business' (lol).
In "Anti-Thesis", at the very end, Eames sees the disappointment on Bobby's face with Nicole gone. So she tells him "What'd you think, she'd have scones and a glass of cherry for us?"...
At the end of "A Person of Interest", Bobby bought some scones...
And finally in "Pas de Deux", Eames to Bobby:
'I hope Nicole enjoys the scones of Bedford prison' and I just adore how after the bad news, Eames was making sure he was taking it okay. She just stood there staring at him

I take it that this 'scone business' is a game between the two

Now, I'm on my way to open an "Anti-Thesis" thread :P
