Why are people gay? Found this through the Queer Department. It's a new research project looking into sexuality and gender, and contains info about historical attitudes to both of those. |

What do you think of their theory? It seems unduly neat to me. I've known gay couples who were just couples who were gay. I've known others who were so much into the butch + femme stereotype that you'd think they had a scriptwriter. So, as a theory of all relationships, it's fair enough, but if their argument is that gay relationships, specifically, are more often 'identifying' rather than 'complementary', I dunno. That sounds a bit like weekend supplement soft psychology. |

Yeah, it didn't seem to quite fit. Was mainly pointing this out as it does have surveys that allow you to comment on their ideas. Plus some historical information I hadn't been aware of. |
