In a follow up to the earlier thread... basically, an ingame chat between a player and a GM confirmed that two female characters could get reported for trying to marry. That pretty much blows the whole "it doesn't belong in the game" argument made in the previous thread, since marriage is an accepted part of the ingame content. It also determines that it doesn't necessarily matter if the players are gay or not, because the sight of two female elves in love could offend the eyes of some poor troglodyte.

Brief link from another site

The original post of the guy who got told he couldn't...

Blizzard is now systematically deleting every thread pertaining to the issue.

this is known as "people being stupid". I mean really - ignoring an "issue" doesn't mean it's not there, it means "you iz ignerink".

Gay marriage will be a reality everywhere soon enough. The "reality" of homosexuality is evident to the entire world.

Let's be real - South Africa figured it out.

Then again, you're talking about Americans, the same idjits that are arguing over the idea of "some old guy in the sky poofed everything into existance" being taught as scientific fact....

People are Stupid.
And Common Sense isn't.

More amusingly, at the moment in wow you can get gifts from admirers if you wear perfume/cologne and exchange for a voucher– it appears you can get gifts from males or females irrespective of gender, so clearly you can be gay valentines.

But persoanlly I wouldn't do that quest as the rewards aren't worth the effort.

What are the rewards?

Currently I am roleplaying an intolerant Scarlet Crusade paladin. (The religious right of humanity if you will. Anti-elf, and a PURGE! mentality) and I had him buy the stack of Valentines cards and the perfume and the cologne... tried.... didn't get how it worked... went "fuck this" and tossed all the Valentines crap away.

You have to use the perfume or cologne then wander sround the capital cities looking for NPCs with hearts over their heads.
