This is one of the major reasons I hated all the holocaust memorial stuff. If it was about remembering the dead and loss it would be okay but it seemed like an excuse to feel smug: we don't commit genocide, do we?.

We haven't learnt anything, we're letting this happen. Why are we allowed to feel morally smug because Nazis don't have control over Germany?
