Despite the subliminal messaging :P, I've tried the others and though I don't exactly have a collection of cards honed into a superawesome deck, I did get this whole box of cards at a garage sale for about 5$ so maybe I could bring that sometime. I'd probably lose, but I'd still have fun doing it. |

I'm throwing in my vote for the Legend of the Five Rings, only because the creators of the game are supposedly Nevada-grown, or at least have a serious love-on for the Reno region. I mean, yeah, if it comes down to it, I've got an MtG deck that I haven't played since, what, 2001? But that's just me. Someone more familiar with the L5R system, does it play like Boomtown did? edit: the only reason I don't suggest we play Boomtown, which I know is a blast and a half, is because it is laughably out of print. Paranoia CCG, too. Edited by UNR Matt, Jan 25 2011, 08:29 AM.

Its perfectly fair. Otherwise people would vote for one choice like fifty times and we would never figure out which game to play. |

I cast my vote for Lo5R-It plays a lot like Doomtown. It's a lot deeper than Magic, it plays a lot better, you never get manascrewed, and even better, each new set doesn't render the last one obsolete. Seriously, Magic the Gathering is a TERRIBLE game. Really anything else is a good option. |

The only problem is that I don't have any Lo5R and losing is part of the fun for me when playing MTG. |

Are club card games going to primarily involve club-provided decks, or will people be providing their own? I imagine it'd primarily be the former with the option for the latter for those who have them. |

hmm, thats a good question ashley. normaly it would be safe to assume that most people would have their on deck for whatever game we are playing but it would be a good idea to have a set of club cards for noobs who just want to try the game out. i'll have to speak with ed and the treasurer to see if its in the budget, unless MTG wins i've got plenty of cards i could donate to the club or at least temporarily loan out. |

Yes, this is for what the club will spend money on. It doesn't mean we won't play Magic, just that we are not going to spend money on it. |

the polls have closed Lo5R is the winner. now that we have an official cardgame to support i imagine we will be getting a section on the forums for cardgames which is where i will be posting all info on games to be run, thanks to everyone who voted and if you'll pardon me a vicious horde of goblins just materialized behind me in Runes of Magic. |
