He had stormed off in a furious mood, and then come to regret it soon after, as he was now hopelessly lost. Well it wasn't that he didn't know where he was; he knew exactly where he was, somewhere directly in between "Gods-only-know" and "God-don't-care"! He could tell that by the rather grisly apperation just off the road, which he dearly hoped was an animal skeleton, though common sense and perhaps just a little forboding was keeping him from investiating. So he stood there and tried to decide: onward to wherever, backward to that other place with the annoying fat barman... ...Choices Choices... |

[ Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! ] Eyrin wandered about, somewhat lost. Her blue gown was covered in dust at the hem, hair bound to keep it from sweating at the neck. It was probably the last place on earth she would have expected to find another person, and yet... She stopped her horse, not too far from the stranger. He seemed a little disorientated. 'Excuse me sir,' she called across the small distance. 'Do you know where we are?' |

"Well," he had no idea "That way is where you will find several rude people I have recently left" He pointed in the direction from whence he came "And that way you will find rude people I have not spoken to in a very long time" Honestly he was severly disorientated due to several occasions when his drink had been spiked with some sort of exotic herb. He wasn't entirely sure, but he thought that he was headed for Quievere. Why was something the gods only knew, seen as though his parents were both living there adn denying his existance to all and sundry. "S'pose you don't have a map either" |

[OOC: Continuing from "Inventioning". Didn't actually see this post before, I'll just pop in.] He'd been walking for a while. He saw a couple of people in the distance. He brought out the crossbow, and using the monocle-tube, he saw them a bit closer. A woman had his back to him, and a man was talking to her. The man looked a slight bit confused, and there was something strangly familiar about the woman's hair, but he thought nothing of it, and walked into the woods nearby. Ok... test one... He pumped, he clicked the trigger, and the snap of the bow coming forward felt... light. There was no arrow... He looked inside. Seeing the problem in the release mechanism, he pulled out a dagger and stabbed it in there, with a satisfying snap, something broke, and he put the dagger back. He pumped again, and shot. He'd been aiming for a distince patch of bark, but got one right next to it. He shot again, and the arrow before was split right in half. He realised what was happening. The 'viewer' wasn't lined up properly. Holding the crossbow steady, he twisted it a bit, so the lines he scratched into the glass pointed at the arrows. He shot again, and, viola, the two were knocked out the tree as the arrow bounced off them. He loaded the chambers he'd used, and then, not pointing at anything in particular, fired off as fast as he could. Chuck-chuck-thud, TWANG, chuck-chuck-thud, TWANG! The tube was left empty after just less than ten seconds. THAT was what he called rapid fire. He reloaded again, shot off a few more, then CRACK! the bowstring broke, whipping around the front and cutting down his left arm. He let go of that arm and the crossbow thudded to the ground as he let off a groan. He tended to the wound only for a minute, cauterising it slightly to stop it bleeding. It still hurt, and would leave a scar, but that was no biggy. He was too exited about the whole project to be worried about a mere flesh wound. He looked at where it had broke. Due to the fact that he was still using the bow string design, but with a tube that it had to go through to get to the arrow. This caused the problem of it having worn down against the side during each pull only a little bit, but enough to snap it. In a spasm of pain, he realised this would not work at all with the cylinder design, because the levers couldn't take the pressure neede to stop them from pulling the string over a perticular corner. It was seriously flawed... Back to the drawing board... He put the crossbow away, and started walking back to Quivere slowly, nursing the wound a little more as the adrenaline wore off. |

'Sounds like an interesting choice...' Eyrin said to her fellow wanderer, turning around in surprise as she heard something thud into the trees behind her. And again... and again... Eyrin rather liked trees, and for many reasons. Squinting into the sun, she focused as best she could on the stupid man, lips tightening angrily. 'I advise you put that thing down before I turn it back on you!' she shouted down the road. 'And don't think I wont!' |

He heard a voice shouting after him, he turned, seeing a woman shouting at him. Something about putting 'that thing' down. She must have seen, or heard him firing it. He didn't realise it was so loud, his ears filled with noises from the last week's worth of forging. "Why does it bother you!?" He shouted back, turned and continued walking. |

One thing being able to turn into a cloud of mist was good for, was sneaking up on people. She'd never been particularly good at being stealthy, and trying to be stealthy around experienced assassins, was never particularly effective. She could deal with the light headedness. The mist hovered a moment behind Angel. She decided it was good luck, to have actually run into someone she actually new. She materialised behind him, grinning she tapped him sharply on the shoulder(probably not the smartest thing considering his temperament o.o). The coat she usually wore was wrapped up in a bed roll, along with most of her belongings, which she leaned back on. She seemed to be quite obviously missing her sabres, instead a thin chain, with small but sturdy looking links, was worn over her belt, wound three times. A water flask also hung from the belt. He smiled. He had to give her credit, she had been very good. He hadn't been looking for people in mist, and she had him fooled until she got 10 meters away. Considering it was still morning, there was still mist around, and she made a genuine effort to keep looking like any other mist rolling by. But the terminal weakness was that he could detect her magic, being completely opposite to his. It would have fooled anyone else, though. "Hello." He said, wheeling around. "And may I commend you on your well done attempt at stealth. Just remember it works less on people who can detect your magic." He grinned. Having just finished patching up the wound, he put his first aid materials in his satchel and pulled his cloak sleeve back over his now bandaged arm. "As you can see, I've gone and hurt myself. Take a look at this." He pulled out the crossbow, now looking odd because of it's lack of string, and handed it to Illi. [OOC: Read "Invetioning" in the Drinkin' Place to see the description of the crossbow.] |

ooc: *too lazy to read* "Hello." He turned languidly. "And may I commend you on your well done attempt at stealth. Just remember it works less on people who can detect your magic." It seemed she ought to be more wary when it came to warding herself. She poked her tongue out partially at him. She raised an eye at the bandage, smelling the bitter tang of recently used fire magic. "As you can see, I've gone and hurt myself. Take a look at this." Illi stooped forward a bit, the unexpected weight of the crossbow dragging her arms down a moment. Grabbing a corner of it firmly she dangled it in front of her face, looking at it with slight distaste, armour piercing if she wasn't mistaken. Putting the broken thing in the crook of a tree, she returned her attention to Angel, she gave the older man a severe look, her eye's flickering over the bandage, her hands on her hips. Despite her smaller stature, she was far from unintimidating "Fool fire user," she laughed, and odd contrast to how severe she looked, her face lightened "You ought to know, at least by now, fire is rarely matched for healing," she didn't care much if he hadn't had the privelige(gah, whateva) of studying in (whatever the ladyda name is). "Want me to deal with it?" |

"Argh, Pish Posh! Fire is perfectly suited for healing if you don't mind pain and scarring!" He said jokingly, picking the crossbow out of the tree, and replacing it. "Ingenious device, I can't believe I thought of it. It still needs some work though. I assume you got what it is?" [OOC: I'm going to force you to read it, whether you like it or not! ]

"Argh, Pish Posh! Fire is perfectly suited for healing if you don't mind pain and scarring!" Illi raised an eyebrow at him. "Your going to end up covered in unsightly scars, and there is going to be nothing any body can do about it, unless you want to suffer loads more pain," she grinned at him, a wicked glint in her eye. "Ingenious device, I can't believe I thought of it. It still needs some work though. I assume you got what it is?" She looked it up and down again, "I'd guess it's a multiple shot crossbow," not that she particularily fancied crossbows to much, although it would certainly be advantageous if she considered them "Bit heavy though... Wouldn't it be better if it were a lighter metal?" she mused. |

"Ok, you know what, if it worries you that much, you can help heal it." He pulled up his left sleeve and stuck his bandaged arm out. He also looked at the revolving chamber, and an idea struck him. "It's only heavy because of that chamber, but I think I've got an idea that won't even need it." |
