Eyrin wandered about through the forests, suddenly finding herself in a clearing she knew all too well. The hairs on her arms bristled, standing up dead straight, she shivered. Even under the blue sky, the water still looked as cold and uninviting as it always had, starkly beautiful. The grass about her had grown long, and soft. She sat in it carefully, and sighed. Overhead, a bird screeched, Eyrin frowned. She'd come here to find some peace and quiet, and all she'd heard so far was noise after noise after noise. She'd come to think... to be close to the place she'd once called home, to wonder where home was now. Was it back in the town? Was Aklen still home? Did she, Eyrin, who'd run out on her kind, deserve to call it home still? She wasn't sure. But what of Quievere? She couldn't call that home either. She hadn't been born there... didn't live there. She let out a deep breath, and took the ribbon from her hair, allowing it to spread out behind her. She didn't know what she was supposed to think anymore. |

He was enjoying the clear skys that day, gliding gently as a bird. He saw a familiar figure below and let out a sqwak. He dived straight down and sat on a branch on a tree next to the path. |

Eyri turned around slowly, just in time to see the bird land. She was sitting some distance from the path, and couldn't see it properly. Annoyed, she threw a couple of miss-aimed rocks, trying to get it to go away. 'All I want is some quiet....' she muttered. |

He grinned as only a raven can when she threw rocks at him. He jumped off and glided toward her. Halfway there he caught fire and hit the ground hard. The fire form went to SumoSniper, face down, getting up quickly and materialising. Reflexively, he brushed off his clothes. "Not used to the whole bird thing." |

Her eyes widened considerably as he hit the ground beside her. Talk about breaking the peace... not that there had been any anyway... 'I see...' she said slowly. |

He sat down next to her. "Why are you all the way out here?" |

'Came to think.' she sighed, knowing she probably wouldn't get a chance to now. 'It's a good place, usually. I came here as a child.' |

"Ah, this is where you come from, eh?" He muttered. "It's certainly a nice place from the air." He looked at her face remarking the beauty, but something else too. "You look troubled. What's on your mind?" |

'Yeah... there's a village not to far from here, you wouldn't have seen it from the air.' she replied, her face clouding over even more at the mention of the place. 'I suppose it is where I should call home... but I don't, and Quievere isn't home either...' |

"So what, you were planning on going back?" He grinned "We don't need homes." |

'I don't know...' she shrugged. It had been ages, or at least it felt like it, since she'd run out. A lot had changed in that time... 'Maybe I should.' |

He was indifferent about her going back, but wondered if it was safe. "Are you sure, didn't you sort of run away?" |

Eyrin nodded. 'Out of the frying pan, and into the fire.' she said wryly. 'At least there I'm among my own people... though they don't take traitors well. Whether you'd call me one of those, I don't know.' |

"You can't be a traitor for escaping," He said pointedly, "you'd be a traitor to yourself for not trying to get out, if it was as bad as you've said." "Though if you want to go, let us." |

Eyrin thought for a moment. She wasn't ever going to know, unless she went there... she took a deep breath, and drew in as much courage as she could. 'Okay.' she said softly. 'Lets go.' |
