ooc: I know I haven't been approved by four yet, but I have to do something in the next half a century. So if you have objections, post it where my app thingy is, k? Walking towards the markets, Ekki detailed his plan whilst dodging small children. 'I'm thinking that we'll need only a small group to do this. Too big, and we'll be caught up with easily. I'm guessing you can do illusions?' He hesitated before continuing, both to check that he was out of ear shot of others and nervousness of revealing these sort of things. 'I can do some necromantic things, which I'm thinking for survellience I could raise something small like a rat. I can sort of see that way then. Then you and I can go in disguised as guards, get Illi and illusion her, and get out of there.' Pausing infront of a stall to seem more nature, he peered at Lachlan out of the corner of his eye, pretending to inspect a rug. 'Any suggestions on anything?' he said, before moving on. 'I think we should try to get information on the scheduals of guard patrols to make it easier to get out.' ooc; Dun, dun duuuun! The plan! So, any comments/ criticism/ suggestions/ complaints? |

ooc: I know I'm double posting, but this has sorta died... Ekki fidgeted a little when he got no response. 'Is it really that bad..?' he wondered. You're just looking for another excuse to play dress-ups. You're one depraved bastid. 'As if you're pure-intentioned self is any better,' Grey shot back. That cuts. Just because I'm homicidal don't mean I have no feelings. What if I'd leave because of your bitchin'? 'Please.' While leaving all that excess baggage you dumped on behind? Ekki's face paled considerably. 'NO!' he yelped mentally. A dark chuckle was his response. By the gods, kid, you need to be laid! The white of his cheeks quickly flushed red, though his eyes hardened somewhat. The poor rug seller had no idea why this young man was changing his expression for the last 2 minutes, but now he wasa glaring at him. The nerve of young'uns these days... ooc; OK, that was random. MILNE!! Get your arse down here! |

Lachlan listened as Ekki spoke, scratching his chin thoughtfully as he inspected a stall of rather poorly made tricks. During the duration of Ekki's speaking, he'd put both fingers into a finger trap. "I'm thinking we ought to gather as many people as possible, but not necessarily send any particularily large amount of people to gather informtaion," he tugged gently at the finger trap, his tongue sticking out slightly as he concentrated. "It's usefull to have lots of people, especially if you end up in a fix," "I can make things seem as they don't," he said tugging at the finger trap harder "But you sure you want me on your rescue mission, I'm not the most skilled or capable of people," he tugged harder at the finger trap as if to prove his point. Lachlan did not notice Ekki's odd expresion changing, far to absorbed in trying to loose his fingers rom the trap. The man who own the stall the item was from was starting to get a little digruntled, Lachlan eyed him a moment, warily, before turning to Ekki "Do you know how these work?" |

'So, as a sort of back-up, in case something goes wrong? And I'm sure you'll be fine, you seem like a good sort,' Ekki smiled disarmingly before inspecting the finger trap. He blinked. Blinked again. 'Erm...' He pulled slightly on Lachlan's fingers, bringing them closer together before slipping it off. 'Here,' he said, handing it back to the vendor before heading once more to the Weapons Shoppe. |

'So, as a sort of back-up, in case something goes wrong? And I'm sure you'll be fine, you seem like a good sort,' Lachlan nodded. Despite the considerable height difference between the two, it seemed that Ekki held the more powerful presence. Lachlan eyed him, speaking carefully "I'm sure you'd be able to find someone more useful than me though, good sort has nothing to do with capability," he said hopefully. It wasn't too much the case that he wasn't capable, he had skills in many areas, more that he thought that two mages entering the Quievere castle was practically suicidal. He'd heard the king employed witch sniffers. It talk considerable skill to ward yourself, maybe the light-dark mage knew how. 'Erm...' Ekki did something, although he did not see what he did. 'Here,' He gave the trap back to the vendor. Lachlan waited a moment, till Ekki was in front of him, before slipping the vendor two silver pennies and dropping the trap in his pocket. |

Ekki stopped abruptly. Spinning on his heel, he seized Lachlan's shoulder and pulled him down to eye level. Eyes hardand narrow, he ground out in Black's accent, 'Yer going teh help us, whether yeh like it or not.' He didn't specify who 'us' was. Also his cloak lay in the tavern, with the rest of his baggage. Turning around again, he looked back again at Lachlan, all agression on his face gone. 'Shall we go then?' |

Lachlan was quite caught off guard when Ekki dragged him down to eye level, he imediately thought he'd seen him buy the finger trap, and assumed a suprised and guilty expression. 'Yer going teh help us, whether yeh like it or not.' He let out an undignified yelp, much like a rat be squished underfoot, it wasn't likely he'd be able to wriggled his way out of this one, at least it sounded as though he had some people already willing to help. Why had he bothered to stick his nose into this man's business? He pulled himself upright againand rubbed his shoulder resignedly. 'Shall we go then?' He looked down at the man who seemed not quite short enough to be called short(ok? o.O), but seemed neither tal enough to be called such "Why ask? You seem to be making the orders," he sighed blandly, if this got him killed, well... he'd be dead. "Who are these 'us' people," he sighed somewhat annoyed "hope they're more reliable than me," he added insipidly. |

"Why ask? You seem to be making the orders. Who are these 'us' people? Hope they're more reliable than me." Ekki glanced up over his shoulder to Lachlan, confusion written on his face. 'What're talking about?' He asked, having no recollection of what Black'd said. 'But anyway, there's us, you and maybe Zakeb, Angel or one of the others can help out.' |

'What're talking about?' 'But anyway, there's us, you and maybe Zakeb, Angel or one of the others can help out.' Lachlan eyed Ekki even more warily, this man had an odd manner almost as if... He looked him up and down, his composure had changed slightly, less... Arrogant? Maybe? Barely a moment passed as he thought this "You're alright aren't you?" he was sure he'd properly had the mans attention before, considering the way he'd been shoving him around. He rubbed his goatee a moment, before speaking again "Was that Angel and Zakeb at the bar earlier?" he enquired. |

ooc: wasn't it actually Angel and Tanis? anyway... 'I'm alright? Well, considering...' 'And yeah, they were.' Lachlan shook his head, giving up. Maybe he'd avoid speaking, yes, that would be a good idea, would avoid having to interpretr this fellow's incoherency. He nodded vaguely and continued to follow Ekki. |

Ekki continued on towards the Weapon Shoppe. When they finally arrived, he looked side to side across the street before entering casually. No one was inside, and the shelves were rather dusty. Strolling around the store, he inspected a dirk on the shelf. After a while, he called out 'Excuse me!' |

Xanthias turned and carefully assessed the pair who had just entered. They appeared harmless enough. Not nearly arrogant enough to be guards but still best not to be premature in his approach. A boy of Xanthias' age appeared to be more interested in the dust on the shelf than in the dirk infront of him. Xanthias grew wary and silently cursed himeself for again forgetting that he was dwelling in this Shoppe on the pretence of actually tending it. He had grown careless. 'A fine blade.' Xanthias said encouragingly referring to the useless piece of rubbish before his customer. A fixed smile and the facade of cheer hiding his calculations as he sized up the young man before him. As the boy turned from the shelf Xanthias felt the hair on the back of his neck rise. His face was young and innocent but there was something unatural in this ones eyes. Something dark and intelligent. Xanthias could hear alarms ringin in the back of his mind. He was used to dealing with all sorts of people. Mages guards even royalty ... all had been easy to differenciate but Xanthias didnt know what to make of this one. He would have to be careful and let HIM make the first move. |

ooc: Eeee! Stacey! *glomp* Everyone, this be Stacey, friend of mine from Japan. Hisashiburidane. ^^ And you still don't like commas, I see. ^^;; Ekki turned towards the shopkeeper when he faced him, smiling somewhat. He'd noticed the detatched interest Ekki had for the dirk. 'A fine blade.' 'Why, it is does have a stately air...' he paused, and spun around to pick up another small dagger. It was short, plain and concealable. 'However, I think this might be a bit more appropriate. A good, stout knife is what I'm looking for. How much would you say it is worth?' During this almost unextraordinary comment, Ekki had raised his hand somewhat, fingers flicking fast in the underground dialect. Theives often used it, as did servants who weren't supposed to be heard. It was especially handy for those who did not want things overheard. 'I am looking to purchase some information. Are you able to give me it?' he spelled out whilst looing at the dagger from all angles, as One often does when considering a good buy. ooc: Yes, I'm stealing the Drasnian secret language from Eddings. But it's just too tempting. ^_^;; Bah. |

ooc-> im sure we can all call this 'adaption' as a form of respect to eddings geious
'I am looking to purchase some information. Are you able to give me it?' Xanthias relaxed slightly seeing that the boy was one of his own kind. He had an eye for weaponry too. The stout blade he now expertly examined was by far the most practical on display. Xanthias' respect for his knowledge of steel and his friendly smile however did not deter Xanthias enterprising and unhealthly love of coin. 'No honour among thieves' to this cliche Xanthias held. 'That particular blade is quite valuable...' Xanthias gushed feigning reluctance with ease. Afterall if it all came to nothing perhaps he could still entice this queer eyed stranger to buy an overpriced dagger. Xanthias for the moment chose not to use the secret language...the other slightly distressed fellow had not yet proven what he was. 'But we are getting ahead of ourselves, perhaps a quick introduction and i will be better able to advise you in what would most suit you.' He shot the nervous companion a meaningful and questioning glance. Xanthias suddenly felt cold....he was growing uneasy in this strange company... |
