OOC: I'm guessing you're talking to my character? You did introduce yourself, but I didn't see where you approached me. At any rate, I'll respond as if you did.

Zephyr looked up, realizing he didn't understand the symbol, and said: "It gives me a bit of support to see an empty flagon in front of me. Quite strange I would suppose."

Zephyr leaned back, and took a quick glance at the person displayed in front of him. It was a younger man, shorter than him, but perhaps a bit older than him. He seemed rather scrawny, with long hair in a slipshod ponytail of sorts. He looked like a type of vagabond, probably someone Zephyr could get along with just fine. Unfortunately, it was apparent he didn't have a job to offer.

After a bit and a half of studying (unfortunately, longer than he would've liked), Zephyr said: "My name's Zephyr. I've never heard of you around here. Are you a regular?"

ooc: Ah, gomen. I'm new to all this, and still getting the hang of it. -.-;;

Ekki waved his hands to dissuade the idea. 'Oh, no, no. I only just got here today. I was wandering from...,' he trailed off, remembering Tinks warning. 'Place to place. I'm not surprised you don't know me. I'd rather most didn't.' He sighed, recalling the incident Black had caused last time.

The youth looked at the flagon once more asking, 'I still really don't know what the flagon's for, though.'

Tink picked Chiros up and put him in her pocket before following Ekki back into the tavern.
She found him talking to a stranger. Walking up behind him, she pulled her hood over her head before looking over Ekki's shoulder.
"Who's this?" she asked with a grin.

Zephyr looked up, but didn't bother to introduce himself. After all, she had not introduced herself, and was asking Ekki for his name.

Instead, Zephyr began to study this individual as well. Finally, it clicked who they were. Thieves. A strange looking bunch at that, but no doubt capable. Company with them could prove interesting.

Gears were beginning to clank in Zephyr's head. He answered Ekki's question:

"The flagon is nothing more than a symbol. If you don't understand the symbol, then you have nothing to offer me. If you do understand the symbol, then you've got a job."

Zephyr smiled. He guessed the newcomer girl to be older than he. They still hadn't guessed that he was younger.

ooc: Illi is at camp till Friday, folks.

'Ah, sou. So you're a mecenary then? Illi over there does some of that too,' Pointing to her direction. 'I generally peddle goods on my travels. Depends on my erm... Mood, I guess.' He winced at his bad cover up.

Looking between the two, he guestured to Tink to introduce herself. 'I'll just go get a drink then...'

Tink looked at Ekki, then back at the stranger. Ekki had suggested he might be a mercenary, so she thought she'd better be careful.
Adjusting her cloak so it hid her injured shoulder a little more effectively, she offered her hand. "Name's Alda." she said, a little coldly, using the first part of her last name. "And you are...?"

Zephyr took her hand in a shake, and he locked his eyes on hers. Something in her eyes gave the same impression as the Fair Folk, but he discerned she was not one of them. Still, a twinkle in her eye gave a different look than the others. He finally responded, saying:

"Zephyr. You look as though you are an...ah...acquirer of objects."

Tink gave him a sharp look. "You could say that." she said, grinning. "I'm a traveller, as well." she added. Damn, these half-truths were getting annoying. The 26 contracts on her life, however, forced her to give them.

She nodded down at the flagon. "Looking for work? It might prove difficult to find some around here at the moment. Something's brought quite a lot of mercenaries here ahead of you. As an aquaintance, I'd advise you to watch your back."

Zephyr couldn't help but bring out a smile. She understood the symbol.

"My back is always watched, either by my own eyes, or by those who wish to do it harm. But, alas, yes. I am looking for a job, where apparently few are given."

Ekki called out over the din of the bar, 'You want a drink, you two?' He ignored cries of the drunks who responded.

Across the bar, Ekki mearly shrugged. He returned a few minutes later with his own drink.

Tink rolled her eyes. "Ekki, it isn't wise to offer me drinks, you know that. Or at least, you should!" she said with a laugh.
She looked back at Zephyr, raising an eyebrow. "You might want to go look for work in Morganheith." she suggested, a glint of mischief in her eyes. "The oh-so-evil Lord Lort has found himself rather...less well-to-do than he's used to. He might have a few job offers."

Zephyr shook his head.

"I'm quite desperate for work, but I'm not about to affiliate myself with him. I've heard of some of the things he's done. I'm a mercenary, but I'm not without a code of honor."

Heh Zephyr, you sound so cheesy when you say honor... he thought to himself.

"Hmm..." Tink said thoughtfully. "Well, it's probably for the best. Otherwise, he probably would have given you a job trying to kill m...my friend." she said. She'd been about to say 'me'.
Dammit, even when you aren't drunk you talk too much... she thought, mentally bashing her head on the nearest table.
"Ah. Honour." she continued, trying to cover up. "It's a bugger, sometimes."
