Assassin and displacing Grey Seer

Quick question that may seem obvious but I'm just wanting to clarify it. If I have a clanrat bunker that is 5 wide with my Grey Seer, BSB, and command squad in the front, and I decide to hide my assassin in (to protect from flying monsters and such) can I move the grey seer out of the front rank and into the second rank once the assassin appears?

What about if I've been charged and an enemy is in B2B with all models in the front rank? Can I still reveal the assassin (in the combat phase, or perhaps at the beginning of the next turn after drinking the potion) to push the grey seer out of danger, or can the assassin only appear in the second rank in this scenario and thus only get one supporting attack?

I know normally you cannot move characters that are engaged out of combat, but I'm curious if there is a rule or FAQ I'm missing.

Thanks!

The rule is "Where it can fight" Which is the front two ranks. So you'd need Full Command, BSB, GreySeer, and 5 Engineers, to pull off the "Swap a Seer" trick. Or a Bell.

The rule about displacing a model in base to base is for combat reform, it even says it's specific to combat reform. So you should be able to plop the Assassin into the front rank mid combat, but only if he replaced a non-Command Rank and File model to get there.

Note that:
A) since you reveal him at the start of a close combat phase, if it is before when impact hits would have occurred, you can "Make Way!" him to displace a Command model, after replacing a Rank and File in Rank 2.
2) it's any Close Combat, not any friendly Close Combat, so you can totally reveal on your opponents turn!

*scratch this* helps to read the rule first!

So yeah, you could make way as you are not in base contact, but it wouldn't help protect the seer.

Thanks!
