Hellpit moves 3D6 Random Movement, as we all know -- what happens if someone casts Acquiescence or CaC on it or the Doomwheel?

BRB FAQ

Page 66 – Special Rules, What Special Rules Does It Have.
Change “[...]the effects of multiple special rules[...]” to
“[...]the effects of different special rules[...]”Add “However,
unless otherwise stated, a model gains no additional benefit
from having the same special rule multiple times.” to the end of
the first paragraph.

Based off of this, would I be correct in thinking that the Random Movement portion of the spell would have no effect since the HPA/DW already have the rules?

It's arguable on the use of the word benefit from the same special rule more than once.

This came up about 2 months ago at my local gaming store. We decided that it would not affect models with the random move rule already. Never had seen it before since it gets thrown at my cannons usually. Which my opponent did after we decided the d6 random movement would not affect models which already had random movement. Although I did offer to have it add an additional d6 move to my already 3d6 move but he didn't want any of that :D

I thought there was something in the BRB in Movement, or in the FAQ on Random Movement, that handled units with more than one Random Movement Value.

BRB pg. 74

If two or more models in a unit have the Random Movement special rule, pivot the unit about its centre, then roll the dice only once to determine how for the unit moves. If models in the unit have a different Random Movement value, use the slowest for the entire unit.

So yes, but only if there are multiple models. Nothing in the FAQ that I could find.

I'd say the random movement of the Slaanesh spells are way different then the ones from the hellpit and doomwheel.

Doomwheel and Hellpit the player decides the direction and the only random part is the distance
Slaanesh spells you have to throw the scatter dice to determine the direction and a d6 for the distance so the player has no control about where the creature goes whatsoever.

Keeping this in mind I'd say the Slaanesh spell is different enoguh from "our"random movement that it overwrites it.

Where do you see this in the rules? The text of the spells simply say as follows:

Quote:

..has the Always Strikes Last and Random Movement (D6) special rules until the start of the caster's next Magic phase.

Another weird thought:

The HellPit doesn't have Random Movement, it has Shambling Horror which is like Random Movement, with the following exceptions...

Change the first paragraph to “The Hell Pit Abomination has

Its a spell effect which means while its in effect the Hellpit has ASL and the Random movement (D6) special rule, not its own initiative or rules for movement.
