at no point did mammoth say the warlord had a fellblade, that was my suggestion, and I never suggested that he should have a charmed shield, please read peoples actual posts.

+2 armor sounds nice - but I don't get where this is coming from. Bonebreaker is a mon mount so you got heavy armor, shield and +1 for bring mounted thats 3+ right? So the Warlitter has a special rule which improves this by one more for 2+ save?

If you are playing a casual game, and its not against Dwarves or you know they won't be bringing two cannons, then a Bonebreaker sounds like a lot of fun and makes your Stormvermin a much stronger hammer.

Warlitter gives 1 armor for being a mount and 1 for being a warlitter.

Dwarves, Ogres, Skaven, Empire, Demons, that's no small number of armies. and even if its not a cannonball coming your way, the warlitter counts as infantry, making it immune to any shooting so long as the warlord stays inside of infantry. a bonebreaker may be targeted by ANY shooting attacks, thats risky against any army.

and yes, if i have the option of firing my cannons at the WLC or a doomwheel, Im going to kill the Warlord, hes worth more points than both of them and has more battlefield value. as for having a greyseer as a general. both your characters are going to be scantily equipped in any game under 2500 points, and their is always a risk of running a wizard as a general.

you didn't ask if it was a decent option in a non competitive friendly game. You asked (and I quote) "why is a warlitter more optimal than a bonebreaker? 5T, 4W, 5A, 5S. Bonebreaker seems much better, just no LOS! but a 4++ ward is decent anyway."
Bonebreakers are a FUN option, they are not as competitive as warlitters, they are not as efficient, they offer more risk with only a meager reward, as such they are sub-optimal. Thats not to say they CAN'T be used competitively, but doing so requires more diverse tactics other than "I'll put him on an ogre instead of a warlitter, cause that'll work by the numbers.

Yup, the best you can do with the fell blade is a 2+ on war litter.

Yea mate, bonebreaker can be a lot of fun for sure. These guys are just hammering out the meta. My advice is do what you enjoy doing, be creative. And like me, you should just make a bonebreaker and a warlitter. But if you wana know which one takes priority as far as competitive play is concerned, then they will always say make a warlitter first. With Skaven it's all about warlord survival ;)

Has it been written anywhere that you gain -2 save for a litter ? The army book only says -1.

the book says -1, in addition, you get -1 for being mounted.

This is the standard by which I measure all Warlords: "CapAmer05s Warlord Build" - 228 points
Warlord +Warlitter +Shield +Dragon Helm +Sword of the Anti-Heroes +Talisman of Preservation +(other)Trickster's Shard

Hasn't Cap always advertised this guy as a 2+/4++?

Heavy Armor 5+
Shield 4+
DragonHelm 3+
Warlitter 2+

Hmm.

I have always played it as -1 save since that us what is in the rules. Dwarves get -2 from shield bearers... Or that's what's written ... But with this logic, they'd get -3 wouldn't they ?
