I find posting photos hard as I have to fight the wife for the laptop . Posting a start time and finish time with progress pictures would be ideal. I believe the trust system we have in place is a good one .I think as Host tar said you only cheat yourself. If you are so eager to fudge the PPs then it would be easier to do it during the painting vows. And to be fair if most if not all the hobby tunnels patrons are here because we want to paint and showcase our work with like minded rats .The rewards that are awarded as points and banners and a very welcome bonus but the true reward is in doing a nice model. |

One of the main ideas behind people taking progress pictures, was that it would serve to inspire others. Be they those watching the challenges, or indeed those taking part. Images of people getting work done (and within a timeframe) will hopefully inspire the idle to take up tools and those already challenging, to compete with their fellow challengee's to achieve more. Talking of photo's, here is one of my progress so far; ![]() I am now going to do to a bit of assembling. Starting now! MUTATE - No challenging occured.Wife occured. Challenge updated! Ratt Baron, if you haven't glued the Doomwheel together yet fully, my advice is to leave it in sub-assemblies and paint those before assembling the model completely. Once the whole model is fully assembled and glued, it becomes extremely difficult to paint the driver and the other interior parts. Actually, this is true of all the large Skaven models: they're all painted much more easily when they're in sub-assemblies than when they've been glued together completely and fastened to their bases. |

Good advice my old friend . As I have learnt the hard way you are totally correct .I am hoping to paint it as the 2 wheels and the main body assembly first then add the rest later . Also with the cannons i intend to assemble the 3 main bodies and blue tac them together to get the best looking tri cannon possible . It should be good fun Logging onat 1.30 pm hopong for a good few hours today logging off at 5.30 pm I have assembled the main body parts, cannons and frame and doom wheels ![]() I cant decide which way to go with the cannons -mounted in between the doom wheels or have the doomwheels closer together and having them on top. ![]() ![]() they are just blue tac ed at the moment and prone to total collapse at any time !! Holy crap, thats awesome RB. ![]() As for myself, as soon as I picked up my hobby knife, my wife interjected, by wrecking the TV freeview box. I immediately had to try and fix it for her, whilst she swanned off to watch Eastenders in another room. After an hour and a bit of swearing and button pressing, I got it back working. I ended up so annoyed, that I headed off down the pub and got drunk. The upshot is, I got nothing done and today I have an awful hangover! ![]() My advice to people who want to get things done.................don't get married! |

Challenge updated! This is going to be a really crazy Warp Lighting Cannon, built with impeccable Skaven logic. For me, that's the thing: there's logic behind it. The large Doomwheel wheels should add stability and mobility, making for safer turns. It's not just converted to look different, but to make a better war machine. I am extremely impressed, Ratt Baron: whichever way you go, this looks like it's going to be a truly awesome conversion! |

Challenge updated! Remember, I said that we were being flexible, so you're allowed up to a full two weeks up until the end of the competition, which will happen tomorrow evening. So if you have the time, get back to work: it will still count! |

Logging on at 6 pm Hoping to crack on with the frame work Well thats me done for the night add 2.5 hrs .I have managed to shade the frame ,and add the first highlights of rust effect to the metal work.Next up will be to start highlighting the wood and metal .I will also be weathering the brass with Turquoise to give it some aging ![]() Ratt Baron: 18.5\1\5 It must seem wierd only getting 1 V.V.P.s ,but as I haven`t completed any assembly or painting I can`t add them ,so its only 1 point for basing a single model in week 1.
