Well in that case...

I thought the point was to copy pretty much start to finish, well, I'll try to get as near as damnit at least :D

Turns out I should have read the opening post a little more carefully... Holiday mode seems to be affecting me a great deal at the mo!
Yeah Ghaz, as long as it's a clanny or slave from either IoB or the box set then nearly* all the same techniques will apply.

Get cracking Ghaz!

*The OSL stages won't apply to the clanrats without a suitable warpstone trinket.

I'm not really happy with the way that my photo came out, but my miniature photo booth setup is in a storage locker at the moment, and it would take another couple of days before I could get it. Let me know whether I should redo it. I did follow the example in filing the studs off of the skirt.

@ Cap. Looks great. You're done!
@ Olorin. Nah, don't bother re-doing the picture. If you are happy with the mould line removal then I'll take your word for it. :P

Just like to say thanks to everybody who has taken part so far and those who haven't there's still plenty of time. Also, if you miss a lesson you are still more than welcome to take part. Just catch up with previous lessons and post your pictures whenever you can. Any queries just give me a PM and I will get back to you as soon as I can.

Here's mine. I didn't have that exact rat unpainted anymore, but I found one that looks a lot like that one from the IoB set.

As you can see the scraping with the knife did leave some weird white marks on the hood. It appears to feel flat so I'll just let it be I guess. The marks probably will not show up when the model is primed I hope. The only part that gives problems are the tails: Sometimes a very small 'ridge' is visible, but when I try to scrape it off the rings of the tail suddenly become hardly visible ... so I'll just settle on scraping of as much as possible, while keeping the rings intact.

Hi Nazarath. I see the white marks on the hood and am worried they may show through the primer, especially the lower part, but not to worry. Do you have a round file? By filing the hood with the file parallel to the floor you will clear those marks up no problem. Just a light, couple of strokes so you don't dig too deeply and see if that helps. It will be worth it in the long run.

Cheers.

Staples of files here! I usually file anyway, first time I used a knife to remove mouldlines :D

The light's too bad for another picture I think; I'll try to post one tomorrow. Thanks for the comments.

All done, not happy with the photo either, it just didn't want to focus in the right area. I think the background material on him reflects a little too much light so draws the focus away, manually focusing on the model itself on helped a little... But I digress

Here are my pictures.
I just noticed something still visible on the straps at the back of the spear.
If it's still textured I'll clean it up before starting the next step.

Looks good Jona. I don't think the texture on the cape or spear blade will be a problem but the spear string might need a little scrape.
Tell me when you do that ( no need for another picture) and I'll mark you down as complete.

Woah, did I make it to class?

Anyway, I filed the white things away (alas three spikes on the hood went away with it ...).

Mutate: Looking at the picture on my monitor I hope it's just good enough to show what I've done. I though it looked better on my phone :S

To be fair Naz It's pretty hard to see anything at all. Any chance of another, clearer picture?

Yeah, I was afraid of that :(

At work at the moment, but when I get home I'll try to make a better picture with a real camera.
