Cool! Then my finishing work adds up to: Git-Git: 6.5\10\2 And I have a bunch more points ready soon, as I think I'll do edge highlights on the dragon's armor and call it finished. I think I'll end up ruining it if I do too much at my current skill level. |

Turn 4 start:![]() Git-Git: 6.5\10\2 I'm going to sand the bases of all these guys, making some ready for priming, some ready for upgrading and finishing the cowboy. Done. Turn 4 end: ![]() Git-Git: 7\10\2 Maybe I'll do some more work today, but we'll have to see. I've gotten a lot of paper work done this weekend, so my housekeeping chores are still to do. And I want to make some waffles... Edited by Git-Git, 21st April 2013 - 07:23 PM.

This is way off topic, but Git-Git, how do you make waffles? I've always used a buttermilk batter with baking soda (you'd probably use self-raising flour, being in the UK), with beaten egg whites folded into the main batter to lighten it. But recently, I've been thinking back to the Liege waffles I've had, which are made from a yeast dough, and I even bought Belgian pearl sugar expressly so that I could make them, though I haven't tried it yet. So I've had waffles on my mind, and I was intrigued to hear that you have, as well. | ||

I just mix equal amounts of flour and milk, with a spoonful of sugar and some eggs. I have as many eggs as deciliters each of flour and milk. I use a bit of cardamom spice to add taste. Mutate: I'll have to add that I'm not very particular when it comes to making food. As long as it tastes good...

Git-Git, your waffles are basically made from a pancake batter, then. That's pretty much exactly the batter I'd use for pancakes, except that we Americans rarely use self-rising flour (in the UK, it's much more common, and it's called "self-raising flour" which always sounds weird to me, as though it were resurrecting itself), so I'd add baking powder and salt, plus a little melted butter, and no cardamon. For me, I think that I approach cooking in almost exactly the same way that I approach miniature painting, except that I've spent much more time cooking--except for vacations, I've cooked almost daily since graduating from high school--and I've studied it more, so I'm consequently better at it. Great job, Ghaznub. Good way to fit in extra work between obligations. Git-Git, as I was looking back over the posts, I noticed that you said that you didn't know what more you could do with the dragon. I normally stay away from giving advice here, but since you (kind of) asked.... The dragon is a big, exciting model, and the wings are huge, but there are these big solid patches of color on them. The wings dominate the model, but they're downplayed by your paint scheme, which keeps them from being as interesting as they should be. A dragon flying through the air appears to be mostly wings, just like a butterfly, so those wings ought to be thrilling. I'd like to see the wings with more dramatic highlighting, or even patterning or mottling. Maybe it's just the photo, but to me, it looks like there are large patches of solid color, and I'd like to see them broken up. Think about your orc skin: that, color-wise, is exciting. I think Norwegian pancakes are way different from American ones. And waffles too...I tried doing something cool with the dragon's wings but it didn't work out exactly as I hoped. They do look a bit better than on these photos, though. I'll try to take some better wing-pictures soon. |

Turn 5 end:![]() Git-Git: 8.25\21\3 I think the dragon is done. There will always be some things that are not perfect, but I have started to make more mistakes than I like while trying to make it better. That means I have to redo some parts, and they turn out as good as before or worse. Maybe I will revisit the model in the future, if my skills level up. ![]() The rpg character model will at some point in time get a nice coat of arms on his back, but I have mislaid the design for that part. |
