This is awesome! Any way to get on some sort of notification list for when the next one gets going? I love these sort of short-term, hyper focused things.

The Glen Burnie bunker used to do 24 hour challenges (24 hours to paint a legal 1000 army on site at the store, bonus points if you assembled and primed it in that time as well or if you used the theme color of the night on all models). I miss those.

Finished turn 1.

I based 10 Stormvermin and one Chieftain BSB, and I finished painting the last remaining model (standard bearer). I won't count the bases of the warlitter and assassin until they are all done with grass, and I can't do that until I finish painting at least the bottom parts of the models.

Sleboda,

This is my first time running one of these--in the past, they were always run by Scarfester, who created them--but traditionally, they weren't announced too far in advance, because we didn't want people to stop painting and hold off until they could get more P.R.S. points during the Challenges. It's basically the same reason why stores don't announce their sales more than a few days beforehand: they don't want to create a disincentive for people to shop, just as we don't want to create a disincentive for people to paint.

Weeklong Challenges usually begin on a Sunday, but I realized that there might be one or two American members who were watching the Super Bowl, so I decided we'd be better with a Monday start.

I was only ever in the Glen Burnie headquarters bunker once, but I have fond memories of it. I played in my first tournament there: Lord of the Rings Strategy Battle Game, with High Elves of Rivendell led by Glorfindel and Erestor. I believe I had three major losses, one minor loss, and a tie (even losing to a 12-year-old with a half-painted army), but I enjoyed myself immensely, and did win Best Painted Army, which was realistically the most I could have hoped for. (I did think I'd beat that 12-year-old, but my dice were terrible in that game.) There was at least one other player there who clearly deserved Best Painted Army more than I did--he even had a fully-modeled display board, which was something I'd never seen anywhere before!--but he won the tournament.

I can't really see myself ever getting over to the new Games Workshop headquarters in Memphis: coming from New York City, it would be no more expensive for me to fly to London and take a train to Nottingham.

By the way, Sleboda, what about making some Painting Vows?
And Git-Git becomes the first person in this Challenge to earn a P.R.S. point!

Got more time today, and had a hard workout before dinner so I sit still with very good conscience.

Start of session 2. I plan to sculpt some teeth on the great cave squigs, and paint some base colours on the clanrats while waiting in between the greenstuff-work.

Man, I can never hobby after working out. My arms are shot for hours. Good for you!

@Olorin -
Ah, that makes sense. Got it.

As to Vows, maybe. I'm on a non-Skaven kick at the mo' and the stuff I am painting I am already using for a monthly challenge on another forum. It would feel weird to double dip. :)

Valmiir,

You cheated yourself. Remember, you get 1 P.R.S. point in this challenge for every 10 V.V.P.s. Thus, since you've got 15 V.V.P.s, it automatically gives you 1 P.R.S. point. Your achievements line should look like this:

I am calling it quits for today, spent a lot of time not working on anything or getting anything done but one guy is (mostly) done and another just needs GS. lots of gaps filled also.

I finished the unit champ (the gs is a bit rough, I think I need to go over it with liquid GS and a file to get it to look smooth but liquid GS is with my paints)

I also finished a slice of pie, shame thats not worth any points :P
Spoiler: click to toggle

One model assembled and one assembled and converted for 3 v.v.p.s Also from my last post its been about 7 hrs, but two hours were spent watching NCIS, one eating and cleaning up dinner, and about one spent getting snacks and cleaning up after cats. Dont know what I am counting so just going to post the bigger number.
