Alright after having fun with cork I'm gonna try and work with slate instead (leisteen in Dutch). I went to the nearest garden center and bought some broken slate tiles they had lying around. The tiles are about 2 feet by 2 feet but they had about 400kg of broken tiles. They come in different colours. I picked out a few pieces which totalled around 1,5 kg's of rock. They sold it to me for a total of........ 50 cents! The beauty of slate is that the rocks havea really smooth surface and sharp edges which makes them look more natural thrn other rocks which will look like pebbles with round edges usually when they are small. At home I grabbed a hammer and an old cloth and hammered it down into small chunks that would fit on a 25mm base. ![]() 2 out of the 5 rocks I bought ![]() 1 small rock pummeled into oblivion This will be the kind of rocks I will be using in my Daemon army. That's beautiful rock! I live really close to the beach so when I need sand or stone I try to find suitable pieces there, but your solution is brilliant! Garden centres sell lots of different kind of cool and exotic rocks. I might visit mine to have a look soon. Can't wait to see them on some bases.
