So a topic in the Army List forum has me thinking about running a list with 4 or 5 Poison Wind Mortars in it. My problem is I can not run the same IoB model 5 times. Anyone have some ideas for PWM alternate models or conversions? Maybe a IG Mortar Skavenified? |

Get a nice big ork shoota and try and model it into a grenade launcher? add an eye-patch to go TF2 style.

So after posting this I had a look around my bits box and this is what I came up with.![]() I have done something about it being out of balance since taking the picture but it should give you a idea of what I am going for. Empire Mortar looks like it could be promising also. |

You can acquire bits of 40k tanks and attach them to chariot wheels. I find the Leman Russ variant barrels work quite well for this.

I just shoved a guy with some little cannon i.e. the picture and he turned out all neat. If you already have the IOB model a few times, just cut them off their runner-strip and put them on the base in a different order. That is, "mortar guy followed by reloaded" is one configuration, but "reloaded in front of mortar guy" is an alternative, with "mortar guy at an angle looking left, with reloader guy and spare ball back and to the side," and so on. It's minor, but it breaks up the monotony and if you already have a few extra pairs of mortars, might as well use them. |

Thats quite a nice conversion you've got there. ![]() Any chance we can see pictures of the finished article? Would be a nice comparison to the "stock" PWM. |

I was disappointed with the detail quality of the IoB Mortar, so I've been working quite some time on a heavier more techy version of my own to fit my skryre themed army. I guess I better finish it off and upload a few pictures! With inspiration from your version, I'll consider some wheels for it. That way it wont look like the carrying rat is waay strong. It's based on one of the lead belcher ogre's cannon, with nozzle and piping from the lightning cannon / abomination. So I'd suggest to have a look on the belcher cannons, they're shorter and bulkier, which is a good fit for a mortar imo. Keep the ideas commin, great topic! |

The Ork Lobba from the 40k range could be made to look appropriately Skaveny with a few added bits. The issue there might be the base size though.

They are very small when compared to the IoB mortar, but don't forget that the imperial guard have mortar teams, also space marine rocket launchers can work with some conversion.

Love the luminescent green orb ![]() Yeah, they look a bit smaller, but I don't think it makes a difference (indirect fire and all that). Whats the standard base size? 25x50? |

IoB mortar for scale comparison. If anything the skaven with the IoB mortar are actually smaller than the IoB Warpfire skaven. The IoB mortar is bigger than one of my mortars but smaller than the other. Being Clan Skryre creations I feel like they wouldnt all be the same. Just churn em out and if they work they work. If they dont and go boom no big deal. They are on the standard cav bases that come with IoB for the weapon teams.![]() ![]()
