So I have been collecting Skaven off and on since the late 80s and like many collectors of miniatures my horde, while mostly painted, is by no means complete. I decided a good way to set myself in the right direction for completing them is to share my progress, hopefully it will keep m on track! and hopefully you folks will enjoy the Skaven eye candy.

Saturday I took to finishing my HPA over all it took me 5 hrs (off and on) to paint.I needed to get him finished by today to get him into a game I am playing.

This little guy is one I finished several months ago and wanted to share again I'm pretty proud of it.It's my version of a Warlord on a war-litter. I basically molded green stuff in the shape of the wave of rats I wanted him to ride and just stuck all the little plastic rats I had collected in it.

With the war-litter lifting him above the masses he really fits nice into a unit.

Well, that's all I have for now.

I love them both. :D
The wave of rats is adorable and ingenious and cool! You really should be proud of that, it looks great.
The Hellpit looks awesome, I love the green glowy eyes and the details. The colours you have chosen all work really well for each other and he looks very intimidating.

I'm a rat, I'm a rat, I'm a clever-clever rat!
Now that is a great Hellpit Abomination! The green eyes are a charm so rarely used for Skaven centrepieces.

I'm also fond of the wave of rats idea for your warlitter, though I think it's a touch too high. Still awesome, though.

The wave of rats was an idea I had as well before I made my Bell Warlitter and to be honest I was a bit scared it would look off and be a failure. Damn I was so wrong. It looks absolutely awesome!
Maybe a bit to high but it adds to the effect. It looks absolutely STUNNING inside the unit.

Well done mate 2 thumbs up from me.

Thanks all for the comments! The war-litter was a hard sculpt in that I needed to build some sort of support structure to hold it in the right pose while the green stuff dried (I used my old legos). The height was a bit of an issue, I needed to be able to rank up the warlord in a unit but his pose didn't allow it AND once I started putting all the rats on the base I just couldn't control myself! . . . . . kinda like when I roll for my rattling gun.

So there is a GS pedestal under all the Rats?

Great model by the way. To bad you did not put him in the competition.

the base is actually the older metal rat swarm model, the one that came in to pieces and then I just built it up from their.

The furnace is a very impressive model, so even when you paint it just like the book it still looks amazing. :D
He looks great in the unit too!

@Seri, Honestly I just used scorpion green and dry-brushed it over the orbital area around the eye. Less is better that way you can build the look up and dry brushing is perfect to do that with, it gives you a lot of control over how dark or light you want it.

Thats a pretty amazing model you have there :)
May I ask how you did the billowing smoke? I tried to copy what I found in the book and the result looked like vomit.
