So it's been bugging me that the Furnace is only 6 wounds, with no armor or ward saves. Has anyone tried to do anything about this, and how did that workout for you? |

The furnace indeed isn't very protected from cannon fire or general shooting and has to rely on it's high thoughness. But there are a few options to protect your furnace from these things: -Storm banner: an obvious choice to negate some shooting -Iron curse icon: might only be a 6+ ward safe against warmachines, but it's better then nothing -Shadow magnet trinket: yet again an obvious choice to negate some shooting -Scroll of shielding: in combo with magic resistance perfect for avoiding some monk casualties or damage on the furnace itself In combat there it's a little trickier. My advise is just to pick your target carefully. Don't go after high strenght units like bloodletters when their full strenght. Weaken them a bit with magic and shooting. You could go for a rival hide talisman, could always pay off. When the furnace dies, just protect the priest like hell, since he's still worth all the points. Keeping him out of combat and avoiding casting should make sure of thos. Skitterleap him away or simply join a non combat unit for protection. It would be a waste if your monks can't head into combat because their protecting your priest. Nurglitch VIII, |
