Two Charges, both by the book, one is the Shortest Path to the unit, the other is not.

Note some movment rules that opponents have tried to pull on my HPA: 1. If a HPA assaults a buiilding and wins combat, it can move no further in the game - an HPA cannot pivot the corner of its base through a building (as a monster cannot move into buildings) or move in reverse, thus you are stuck there. >>> Rules as written, technically, this is correct, but I doubt that the game designers have this in mind. 2. You cannot pivot your HPA if the corner of the base will move it (within) 1" of a friendly model. Depends on how you interpret the "pivot without penalty" rule. This one is harder to argue, and indeed may be correct, so ensure ample space between the HPA and another friendly unit. |

If you want to charge it's always best to measure the shortest path. And what I meant to say is that it is always the shortest path that determines if you make the charge or not. So the only thing that determines the orientation of the fight is the zone your model is in. Better said the zone the majority of the models are in. So HPA is 1 model, the majority of 1 model is still 1 model, the whole model. So if you straddle any zone, the rules state you must roll a dice when you can not agree on the orientation. Ofcourse you could always stray away from the rules and use the majority of the base |

In the case of losing a combat against a unit entrenched in a building, I know you retreat back 1" automatically. Isn't this also the case with units that can attack a building but cannot take and hold the building, such as knights? |

Hellpits and doomwheels may always break the one inch rule so that they may inflict impact hits as per our faq, so dont worry about number 2 |

Hellpits and doomwheels may always break the one inch rule so that they may inflict impact hits as per our faq, so dont worry about number 2.. You need to read your sentence in its entirety to make sense of its context. As you state, If you are not inflicting impact hits you cannot break the one inch rule, therefore you do indeed need to worry about number 2. Edited by SHVAK, 4th July 2012 - 12:59 PM.
