I can't really see where you've done the ligthning effect actually...... But I advice you to drybrush from to source to where you want it to reach. Of course, heavier at the source, less at the end. ;)

mutate: Ah, i see now, your ligthning effect is at the front of the model. Well, you've done that very nicely, but an object (like fire or elektricity) that is the source of the light might be cool.

Still, very impressive paintjob though ;)

The one and only.
Will you are blind, lol.
I really like the effect but it doesn't look right because there is no actual fire coming from the machine. If you could sculpt or add a fireball it would be perfect. :D

I can see the effect but if you want to use OSL there is a number one rule which must be adhered to and that is "The area of light MUST be brighter than the the area around it". Think about that and it becomes obvious. Anything else is just changing the colour of the intended area and that is not OSL.

Light will not show up if it isn't brighter than any surrounding light (that's why we cannot see stars during the day). If the OSL was brighter than the surrounding area then this would look fine but at the minute it looks like he has green hands. The other aspect of good OSL is the application. Where the actual light is sourced from must be clearly defined and I cannot see it in this model. I can see the glow (which is applied perfectly if the source is from the tip of the WFT) but I cannot see the actual source of the green light.

Summary:- Make the source. Make it bright. Make the OSL reflection much brighter and you will have it done perfectly.
