My Skryre and Eshin purchases - good?

I'm wondering if this list of Skaven purchases is good if I were to max myself out at 2500pts (w/ some flexibility) of a pure Skrye + Eshin list?

Grey Seer x1
Screaming Bell x1
Deathmaster Snikch x1
Warlord x1 (for BSB)
Warlock Engineer x2
Night Runners x20 (1 box)
Gutter Runners x12 (4 boxes)
Clanrats x60 (3 boxes - 2 commands max)
Stormvermin x40 (2 boxes - 1 command)
Warplock Jezzails x9 (3 boxes)
Warp Lightning Cannon x2
Doomwheel x2
Warp-Grinder Weapons Team x1

Total: ~$733

Does this seem decent? More Clanrats or Stormvermin? More Engineers? No need for a solo Grey Seer if I have one on Screaming Bell? etc etc. If any changes seem necessary, I'd like to sacrifice another purchase, for $$ purposes. Like add 1 box of Clanrats and take away 1 box of Jezzails?

Thanks for any and all input!

You might wish to get a few more boxes of clan rats so you can have some slaves. Might even get a few giatnt rats and a packmaster for a rat dart. They have many uses. Unfortunately the Jezzails don't do so well in this edition (I should know I have 43 of them).
Build a better trap and Clan Moulder will build a better rat!!!!

Yeah, I was considering dropping Jezzails for Clanrats. But I'd like to stick to fluffiness! Speaking of, aren't giant rats more tied to Clan Moulder?

swapping jezzails for clanrats seems like a good idea, try posting a list in the army lists section to see whats what

Victories and Losses (7)
Wizards (4)
Morale/psychology (2)
Characters (2)
Infantry (2)
Monsters/Monstrous infantry (1)
Warmachines (2)
Painting/hobby (6)

Giant rats are clan moulder but all clans use them. Usually in lesser numbers than clan moulder lists. Also for fluffy sake why not get a 5 man unit of poison wind globadiers?

Yeah I was considering that. But it came down to finances, but if I can do some swapping a bit, I may add them...

I understand. That is a fair amount to put out at one time. It can be something to work towards.

You might want to consider getting some of the box sets such as the Island of Blood since they will allow you to save a lot of money. Another way to save the pennies is maybe check sites like ebay and other on-line stores as you might be able to get some good deals.

Money's not too much of an issue. But it is an issue. Assuming my math is right, If I get rid of all 3 boxes of Jezzails, I could get 3 extra boxes of Clanrats (!!! Damn, Finecast is overpriced...and not even good) and a few boxes of Globadiers. It's just 36" S6 shots sounded pretty hot, despite the Unstable Ammo! And I liked the fluff (and Turks reference).

...but I do like the idea of 60 Clanrats + 5 Globadiers > 9 Jezzails... That really puts things in perspective lol  Thanks

Ugh

I just checked the prices on the jezzail teams...

Three teams for $50. That is horribly overpriced.

The problem is that they also kinda suck in the game. I would rather find the points to take a doom wheel than six gun teams. The other issue is that the models are not that great to be perfectly honest. These were released at a time when gw sorta sucked at making skaven.

Maybe just get another box of clan rats and convert jezzail teams.

I think you might want to have some slaves in there as well. Not for the meta game of how effective they can be as blockers but they are essential for Skryre in a way. Some pitiful little creature needs to put those heavy warmachines around and look after the equipment plus you need someone to blame should the battle turn against you.

I agree that jezzails are overpriced. I was almost blown out of the store seeing the price after four years. I find ebay to be a good way of finding cheaper models.

Yup

That's like $8 per model (gunner and guy holding the shield). Totally insane.

Those figures are really a bit small compared to most other skaven. $35 should be the most you pay for three gun teams. $50 feels like a giant gw cheat.

i was looking at buying a box of the finecast jezzails myself, but i instead looked on ebay for some metal ones and found three for about the same price. now, those are worth the money in my opinion.

I would drop the Grey Seer, since the Bell/Furnace comes with one .

You're better off buying the nightrunners box, and just say they're gutter runners . The metals are similar to the plastics, anyway, and they give you an excuse for "converting" .

The warp-grinder is a big no-no . Your gutter runners should always be scouting, as they're too expensive to be lost with a bad roll .

With the Seer/Bell and the Deathmaster, I would drop the warlord . I would focus on a BSB, more engineers, and maybe a normal assassin .

Jezzails are ok, as I still use them to take out high-armored targets . Though, with your overall idea, gutter runners would be a better option .

I'd also suggest, grabbing a copy of the IoB box . There's quite a bit of useful models, such as a engineer, a great model to represent your BSB, a PWM team ( the only model type ), a nicer looking WFTT, and 2 troop blocks to build your clanrats/slaves from .

Can't say anything bad towards 2 WLCs and 2 Doomwheels
Yes, my last name is Kraft. No, I don't own Kraft Foods Inc. Why, yes, I'd love a piece of cheese!
