Hello everyone

Like a few here I am new to Skaven but not to Warhammer as I have been a long running Bretonnian player. Having recently moved I thought of collecting a new force and I am felt compelled to join the rat-men.

I have always liked Skaven, I find their traitorous nature and background appealing so I have started collecting a force themed around Clan Moulder so plenty of giant rats and rat ogres. I have been looking at the advice on this forum and I get a lot of bad vibes for the rat ogres but I still think they can still be useful. What none respecting Moulder worth his incisors doesn't use the giant monstrosities.

Great to be here.

The one and only.
Hello and welcome to the tunnels. Moulder is kinda cool, you can do fun stuff with funky mutations and whatnot.
I'm looking forward to seeing some of your army. :)

Also don't accept any cookies, biscuits, cakes or pies while you stay here. Unless you like the taste of poison!

But isn't that what those slave things are for? Food tasters.

Thank you for the welcome!

Welcome to the tunnels, I'd offer you a cookie, but you've already been warned about that. Care for some Skavenade, brewed with Real Warpstone?

I agree with you about Clan Moulder, I really hoped that this book would improve the viability of Rat Ogres - especially, there was an article some years ago in White Dwarf for Rat Ogre variants (extra arms = extra attack; extra legs = M7; extra heads = not stupid). Oh well, we love the dear vicious buggers anyway! Best of luck to your Moulder-centric theme.

Sure you won't have a cookie?

I believe it was WD 311 (UK) with the Moulder list, as well as an enormous amount of fluff. :D

Thank you all for the lovely welcome and the generous offers of cake and cookies.

I have my own cookies I am afraid made by my own slaves. The cookies are made of slaves, quite tasty.

It's not that they're 'bad'. It's just that they're big, and unarmored. So they're taking in-game fire for meta reasons that they can't handle. When they get into base, they wreck face, but again, no armor means they can't take hits. Skaven is build around expendability of anything that isn't your General, but 20 slaves per Rat Ogre (or 6 Monks/StormVermin/NightRunners if you prefer) is A high price to pay for something that isn't covered in Steel Plate.
