It has been decided. Last night I spent some time on the "Think Tank" And it struck me. Skaven dont have decend battle ships. Thats why we still dont rule the world. Keep in mind that 70 percent of or world consists of water... we should have our own battle ship. And then it struck me even more (after I farted). WIND!!! Forget about land, forget about water... Wind is the place to be. Because the world is layered with wind for over 99.73 percent. Thats why I decided to build a battle ship that can fly. The goal for the battle ship is that I can put my entire Skaven army in it and fly towards any battlefield anywhere in Europe with it. Now there are a few things I would like to discuss with all of you engineers. So maybe it is time for all of us to take place on our very own think tanks and consider the following questions : 1) what would it look like? What gadgets should it have? 2) what material should I use. But lets start with number 1. What would a skaven flying ship look like. (stolen probably...but then again...we could modify it). Please insert your thoughts so I can start making a blueprint with my highly sofisticated engineering material. Edited by koffietje, 13th April 2012 - 04:23 PM.

It would be a miss mash of technology so probably a really big boat with gyrocopter blades and a converted engine.

Are you planning to write rules for it? That might need to go in the "House Rules" sub-forum instead of here

I'm planning to build a skaven air ship that can be used to stack my models in when I go to the workshop or any other place I can fight a battle. So it has to be both light and solid enough. Thinking of using a combination of iron and polyester. But I want inspiration. I' thinking of making it a hot air ballon or zeppelin with some kind of pirate ship as a basket. But all I can think of is making it like the "Pirates of the carribean". But thats too "normal". So I"m wondering...suppose that a skaven would steal the black pearl. How would he rebuild it." |

I got this project in my mind, a Skaven flying contraption, though my idea was building a "model", not a model container case. I'll still share the idea since i think it's so hilarious. So me and my friends are playing Dreadfleet in our local cave, and I had the Skaven ship, the Scabrus at my command. It anyone do not know it, it's a husk of a dead sea beast, converted into a ship by a bunch of undead skaven. So the idea was to apply the same principle to an air vessel. Skaven could salvage the carcass of a dragon/terrorgeist/whatever, build platforms in the rib cage and arm them with warp lightning weaponry! Surely this idea cannot go wrong, my engineers tell me. |

A warpstone core for the power source would be awsome till the core melted down while your ship was in midair.... but the fireworks im sure would be spectacular!

I was thinking something more along the lines of Leonardo DaVinci's corkscrew helicopter... A giant platform made out of rotten worm riddled wood and attached together using large corroded metal braces. In the middle of this infernal contraption there would be an enormous turbine that uses a chunk of pure warpstone to power a large corkscrew that turns and turns. In the bowels of the rat-mother ship countless slaves would propel the vessel forward by rowing massive paddles to create an artificial wind. hope you guys like my idea. Of course now as a more pestilence clan i would add censers hanging under the hull producing a greenish fog of noxious death. But really an airship sounds awesome. |
