pretty simple. i am starting an undead army but cant decide which one. they both have their cool sides and wondered what other people have though. as of right now i am leaning vampires but could be persuaded either way. i like the fact that both armies can be played any number of ways. a lot of monsters. tons of skeletons. ect. i am picking up an army book soon so any input or experience would be helpful. not so much in a better or worse way but in an "i like this army over that army because of..." way. thanks a lot. |

While you'll get a few replies, you won't get many as we mostly play Skaven. I think I've seen more VC secondaries than TK, but that may just be the Skaven way. I'd suggest the following, from the Links thread. I checked all three and they've been almost as active as us. Carpe Noctem [Vampire Counts] The Blood Keep [Vampire Counts] Tomb Kings of Khemri [Tomb Kings] |

From a purely visual point of view I'd go Tomb Kings. I have had 2 VC armies (one half finished) and I think they're drab and boring. That's probably because I'm sick of the sight of them. TK may seem like a lot of bone (they are) but they have a lot of little extras that really set them off. Marble, gold, stone, lapis lazuli, verdigris, bronze etc. a treasure trove of effects to experiment with! Their constructs also add an extra dimension to the visual of the army. |

I have a VC army that I have started playing again. I don't play competitively, but there seems to be some moaning still about limited competitive builds for VC. I'm playing them in a campaign and I don't field the same type of army from game to game and am enjoying a good success rate though. I chose VC over TK mainly because I like zombies. While TK have some visually appealing aspects to them like hannanibal stated, I like the variety in organic colors that can be done with Undead flesh. Anything from rotting yellow/green, pale gray/blue, necrotic black, etc. can be used to add some variety to how your army looks. |
