This is the list 2800 point list I'm planning for my local Ard Boyz tournament. I'm really hoping to do well, so please, please comment and don't hold back. If anything seems rubbish or sub-optimal, let me know.

270 - Greyseer, Scroll, ironcurse icon
185 - Warlord, Sword of Anti-Heroes, Warlitter, Shield of Distraction, Rivalhide Talisman,
potion of toughness
122 - Chieftan, BSB, storm banner
45 - Warlock, Doom Rocket
65 - Warlock, Brass Orb
(Characters 687)

86 - 40 Slaves, fc
86 - 40 Slaves, fc
86 - 40 Slaves, fc
86 - 40 Slaves, fc
205 - 40 Clanrats, fc, shields (bunker)
325 - 40 Stormvermin, fc, razor standard
23 - Rat Dart
23 - Rat Dart
23 - Rat Dart
(Core 943)

90 - 5 Gutter runners, slings, poison
90 - 5 Gutter runners, slings, poison
90 - 5 Gutter runners, slings, poison
216 - 23 Plague monks, fc, Plague Banner
(Special 486)

90 - Warp Lightning Cannon
90 - Warp Lightning Cannon
250 - Hellpit, spikes
250 - Hellpit, spikes
(Rare 680)

Total: 2796

Final note: I find myself wondering if I have enough magical attacks to deal with the new vampires. I'd briefly considered bringing globadiers instead of plague monks to take out wraiths and steam tanks alike. What do you all think?

Off the top of my head:

Unit size is a problem with the monks. Too small for the size of this game

'Ard Boyz? Where's the furnace?

Warlord (general?) could be much better. Way too easy to kill. Shield of distraction not all that great in my mind.

BSB: Same as the Warlord; too easy to kill. Give the banner to the vermin and toughen this guy up more.

Warlocks: Suggest making one of 'em a lvl 1, maybe both. Can cast Warp lightning on one dice and who cares if they fail? Plus Warp-lightning helps with your lack of magical attacks.

Slaves: jack 'em, up to at least 50 and drop the champions. They're worthless. Possibly give 'em shields.

Gutter Runners: Maybe drop one of these. Regardless increase number to 6, at least.

For magical attacks take weapons teams or maybe that unit of globadiers you where thinking about. I'm pretty sure all skaven shooting is warp-stone and thus magical.

TRADE
I'm looking for Dark Eldar to convert into DE. Also looking for bretonnia lances and halberds. If anyone has any they would be interested in trading PM me and we can work something out.

"And, most vivid of all, there was the dramatic epic of the rats––the scampering army of obscene vermin which had burst forth from the castle three months after the tragedy that doomed it to desertion––the lean, filthy, ravenous army which had swept all before it and devoured fowl, cats, dogs, hogs, sheep and even two hapless human beings before its fury was spent. Around that unforgettable rodent army a whole separate cycle of myths revolves, for it scattered among the village homes and brought curses and horrors in its train."

Do you actually have a date, or a link, for 'Ard Boyz? I can find nothing.

Look like you're trying to have a super strong melee unit with the SV+warlord. It's doable if you have skavenbrew+magic support, but other races can beat the same block with less points so you're really fighting with the weakest tool you have in the skaven box. For straight up melee, PM with plague banner performs much better, as does PM + furnace if you're just looking for a straight head-to-head smash.

Have you considered list centered around 2 GS? I think they would much stronger in 'Ard boys settings.

oh, either way, 23 PM is not very useful. Need more like 40.

40 slaves on the other hand, is common and do ok as long as you don't expect them to tarpit something forever.

3 x gutters almost always more useful than 2.

Suggest no shield on slaves because they're wasted if you're shooting into the unit and only useful vs str 3 attacks (which you got plenty of things that can deal with that).

Well, the warlord is supposed to stay in the bunker. He's only tooled as a last resort, he's not really supposed to see combat unless its unavoidable (or he has the most incredible opportunity, like a massive expensive unit with like 10 characters in and low initiative). Im not really going to point the stormvermin at anything super hard, just expensive things that are less tough than them than.

I'll think about trying to get skaven brew into the list.

Also, I hear all this love for the plague furnace but I just dont see it myself. Is it really that destructive?

Finally, I had considered running 2 grey seers and im still open to the idea. Anyone had any experience with this build?

Yes, I'm running it right now. The only Skaven list to win a 80+ players tournament in the uk was a double grey seer list, as were 2 of the 'ard boyz regional winners from last year i believe.

PF is very destructive and help PM take on the small unit with 1+ armour which normally can problem for them (str 3, small frontage). However, PF comes with it's own sets of problems too (big target for cannon, skinks, frenzy, etc)

If you aren't using the Warlord, you've wasted a lot of points sitting at the back like that while your opponent bring his full points to fight.

if you want a warlord "leadership" cady then you need to just leave him naked, don't give him any equipment. that said, I second tanglewoods thoughts in this case, 'Ard boys is a whole different concept of competitive from the average tournament, I myself ran duel grey sears last year, one with a powerscroll and naked, the other with my normal bell build

Sorry to sound pessimistic but this is not really a hard boyz list.
Sure you have 2 big cheesy monsters but everyone at Ard Boyz expects them.
Small units of GR are not hard boy style either I've seen lists with units of 13 Deploy lots of that on a flank and fling 13 x 6 shots into a unit and watch it crumble under the avalanche of poisoned attacks.
Also the monks at that size will bounce of a unit it is big units or don't bother.

A blood curling cough a day, keeps the assassins away

I agree this doesn't strike me as a a typical Ard boyz list.
This is a tournament where every one brings over the top lists with hard special chars (Teclis and Archaon jump to mind).

You have to many hammers in your army, you need only 3 (one for each 1K of points is my rule of thumb). I'd drop the monks or the vermin and keep the 2 abombs since they are cheese. Plague monks should be at least 40 men if you won't bring a furnace.

Further more i agree with Tanglewood ( which doesn't seem to happen a lot :D ) you are wasting a ton of points on a warlord that won't make it's points back. If it's a general and for Ld usage just keep him naked and don't waste any points on him.

I know what it is, but other than 1 vague reference to the winner getting a pass to the Golden Throne, I'm not seeing anything about it. I'm not even sure there's going to be one...

Thanks very much for all the feedback guys, this is my second stab at it, based largely on what you guys have said. The chief changes being no warlord, 2nd greyseer and censer bearers. I know censers are usually considered rubbish but its just occured to me how perfect they are for killing ethereal VC units, especially as the wraiths and hexrider guys are initiative 2 and have great weapons. Anyway, see what you think.
P.S. I did all the maths in my head (bloody staff meetings), so it may be a little off.

275 - Greyseer, Power Scroll
325 - Grey seer, talisman of Protection, forbidden rod, ironcurse icon
92 - Chieftan, BSB, opal amulet, charmed shield
45 - Warlock, Doom Rocket
65 - Warlock, Brass Orb
(Characters 802)

86 - 40 Slaves, fc
86 - 40 Slaves, fc
86 - 40 Slaves, fc
86 - 40 Slaves, fc
115 - 20 Clanrats, fc, shields (bunker)
350 - 40 Stormvermin, fc, razor standard
23 - Rat Dart
23 - Rat Dart
23 - Rat Dart
(Core 878)

180 - 10 Gutter runners, slings, poison
80 - 5 plague censers
80 - 5 plague censers
(Special 340)

90 - Warp Lightning Cannon
90 - Warp Lightning Cannon
250 - Hellpit, spikes
250 - Hellpit, spikes
(Rare 680)

Oh dear, just realised I have about 100 points left... any ideas?

P.S.S. Sorry to Bounty, but I'm not literally going to Ard Boyz, I'm going to my local equivalent as I'm in Asia.

As Thawzz13 said take the slaves up to 50 or give them shields. or make the engineers lvl 1 mages.

Where do you plan on putting the engineers?

You might consider taking two units of globadiers instead of the censer bears. They still have magical attacks (ranged) and would compliment your engineers well. Plus they would be better suited to taking on a wider range of opponents, IMHO.

I hope you're not planning on putting both your seers in the same bunker.
