Hello fellow warpstone junkies,

So I just found out my "friend" has decided to plan his wedding for the weekend of the only tournament that I know about in my region (NOVA Open). I've only ever been to one but I consider myself to be a competitive player and would like to continue with the tournament scene. I think its great fun to see other armies and play against different styles.

If anyone knows any other tournaments in the VA/MD/DC area or surrounding region taking place in the next 2-6 months (or annually) please let me know of them. I would be willing to travel up to 2 hours from Northern VA. (leased vehicle, bleh)

Thank you!

I'm not overly familiar with US geography but there's a tournament on 18th Feb in Charlottesville at the End Game Centre (link).

Don't know if that's within 2 hours or not (only have the details through the website I run, see signature)

The Colonial is somewhere on the east coast and coming up soon I think.

(and before everyone starts bagging on tournaments)
Tournaments are really more about the gamer culture than winning the games, a lot of people are put off by them because they misinterpret that. Sure everyone plays to win (that's no different than a local game), but you can meet some really cool people from different regions if you're willing to get out to them and meet people; you never know where you might wind up in 5 years and knowing someone in that particular area could pay off.

I'm looking to get out to one of the midwest tournaments this year; Ohio, Illinois, Nebraska.

And it's not always as bad as people make it out to be. FLGS reports from the last tourney out here said that of the 84 players, only like 5 were total douches recipients of negative sportsman scores.

Hoping I can get to the other two they're running this month, a 40K Team event, and then the start of thier Fantasy Escalation.

Absolutely, if i win its just a bonus. I enjoy seeing all of the different armies all put together and painted well. The people I play with enjoy the gaming aspect but aren't too big on the hobby part so most of the time they are playing with proxies and less than 10% of the army painted...= (

Not to mention getting to talk Warhammer (read: nerd) for a couple days is refreshing to people who actually care about it haha.

Thanks for the info, I'll check these out. If its Charlottesville, VA, thats only like 2.5 hrs from here. I might have to make that happen...and I'll definitely look up the Colonial.
